US schools are ‘cesspool of Marxist indoctrination’ – senator

Republican lawmaker Marc Rubio has urged colleagues not to use federal funding for the promotion of radical ideas

The Republican Party must support governors and school-board members who are fighting to prevent US educational institutions from becoming a “cesspool of Marxist indoctrination,” Senator Marco Rubio has said.

“Dangerous academic constructs like critical race theory and radical gender theory are being forced on elementary school children,” Rubio wrote in an article published in the American Conservative magazine on Tuesday.

The party needs to provide “reinforcements” to Republican governors and school-board members who are fighting against such ideas being taught to students, he said.

“We need to ensure no federal funding is ever used to promote these radical ideas in schools,” the Florida senator insisted.

Any complaint by a parent or student about school curricula or counseling pushing “divisive concepts” also has to be thoroughly investigated, he added.

Critical race theory, which has existed in academia since the 1980s, is currently taught in many American schools, universities and workplaces. It suggests that people’s relative “privilege” is defined by their skin color, gender, sexuality and other fixed characteristics. Proponents of the theory claim that males sit at the top of the hierarchy and perpetuate “white supremacy” knowingly or unknowingly. Meanwhile, those who oppose the theory argue that it pits people of color against white people and leads to anti-white discrimination.

Some 17 states have so far passed legislation restricting the teaching of critical race theory, according to Education Week, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis banned it from schools altogether last year.

Rubio’s article was titled “My Plan for American Renewal” and outlined three key tasks, which he believes Republicans should focus on in the near future. They are “putting Wall Street in its place,” bringing critical industries back to the US, and rebuilding America’s workforce. According to the senator, these steps require Washington to tackle Beijing and reorient the deep-rooted economic relationship between the two nations.

BBC wildlife presenter Liz Bonnin has said working on nature shows gives her 'eco anxiety' due to their massive carbon footprints as Netflix and Disney + announced a raft of new documentaries. 

Major natural history series have 30 to 40 times the carbon footprint of a regular hour of television because of the need to fly crew and huge amounts of kit around the world, an event at the Royal Television Society heard. 

Ms Bonnin, who chaired a panel of experts, questioned whether the shows were still morally justifiable when they usually had little benefit for the endangered animals they were filming.

They can say what they like to us but if we say anything back to them we will have the police at our door for racism. This shit is getting tiring. Everyday there are black people saying 'death to whites, we are taking Europe'. Whites seem happy to be replaced because of white guilt. We have nothing to feel guilty about. Non-whites love to look at their history through rose tinted glasses. Look at what goes on in Africa with child trafficking and witch doctors. You sum it up very succinctly. Other nationalities, religions and ethnic groups have a practice of not losing face and don't allow themselves to be humiliated like we do. Including other countries which had large empires, slavery, exploitation, conquest and much of the same tar we're brushed with. I wonder why we have such a different attitude, as if our very survival instinct has become sick and atrophied from the poison we've been taking for so long. There's multiple causes, and guilt isn't the only one imo, but an important one nevertheless. And our Christian churches haven't emphasised the aspects necessary to boost our ethnic confidence and will to succeed. It's particularly galling that our own side is preventing us from trying to turn ourselves round.

I think the white population is afraid to speak out incase we land ourselves in jail. Many of us feel alone in this situation but thousands of us can see where all this is heading. I'm not religious but I think to survive this whites have to put aside our differences and go back to our Christian roots. Forget the churches. They have turned against us. We need to start bonding together because there is a war being waged against us. We are the many, for now. Forget class, the middle class is struggling the same as the working class and we are both being targeted for extinction. We have more in common with our brothers and sisters than we think. We are an endangered species who have brought many wonderful things to the world. We are still powerful, I won't be beaten down by a small bunch of tribal degenerate cowards who have to use other races to do their own dirty work.

Absolutely. But we aren't all bonded together at the moment, many of us either aren't Christian any more or only in a token way. In any case, there's lots of other races who are Christians here too, so Christian nationalism would be a complicated way to approach it, we might end up in a similar mess to the US. And I don't think that 'whiteness' is much of an identity anyway, white & black don't really exist they're only a figment of people's imagination it would be better to have something more cultural and ethnic around which we can re-member ourselves.

Oh I forgot about America. That country is a political mess right now with the divide between left and right. I think everyone needs to focus their attention on what the end game of this mess is. They want us all in a digital prison. It will be a version of hell that you can't escape from. They want to download your mind so you can live forever inside a machine. This will sound like paradise to many people, but to all the people in this forum it sounds like hell. Everything up to this moment on earth has not been our choice. It has been artificially engineered by the elites.

@Stuart dorrans  There's something about this whole subject which brings out a negative mood for me, not surprising I suppose seeing as we're so far down this slippery slope by now that a recovery seems like mountain climbing. We have a lot of talk here about big threats which need to be confronted, like the digital prison you mention, but imo there's a lot to be gained by small steps too. Such as local community building and gradual steps towards self-reliance. I'm watching some videos by Patriotic Alternative and Mark Collett who are doing some good work in that regard, and seem realistic about what can be achieved in our current state.
