We have a very bad outbreak of white privilege on our canals & river systems. In twenty years of frequenting the cut I have yet to see more than two minorities. We need a campaign to get minorities on the river system..maybe white privileged could donate a few thousand boats? There is a small community of trans boaties, but not enough. I say we donate to black trans community & they can educate the confused youngsters & hold lectures & pole dancing drag races. I have contacted the BBC who are as shocked as I am & are doing a special 10 part, hour long series on diversity on the cut. In conjunction with the Met police who will be handing out leaflets & the council will be putting up refugees welcome signs & building mosques every 2 miles. Everyone should be asked politely to paint their boats yellow & blue, or have their licences removed for hate crimes.
