Does anyone remember an article about passenger jets being able to be taken over and flown remotely in case of hijack, I can remember reading it but now can't find it anywhere

Don't quote me but I believe it was nick named the Qantas relay but was actually manufactured by Westinghouse

Any help would be appreciated

There are a few books (action hero type) that have this very scenario.

As for "remotely control" it would be very easy as most aircraft these days are fly by wire (electronic controlled) and the autopilot systems can take off fly and land on their own.  Linking a remote control centre isn t an issue.

Just glad that it isn't done... yet

There isn't an article but I know of a couple of occasions where US wanted a plane of Russia and this person, who I will not name, was coerced into controlling the plane without using any modern gadget/technology and forced it to land in a location they wanted. Another occasion, a plane which was on its way to cause a mass destruction vanished completely. I don't know exactly how it was done but my guess is he used mantra and channelling a god. Of course, if you are a descendant of gods....that would help.
