Free_your_mind
I remember mine quite clearly. I was in secondary school and a copy of FHM was going around the class :) There was a piece in there entitled something like 'Top Ten Conspiracy Theories'. There was a picture of the Houses of Parliament with cartoon lizards crawling over it. I read the list and there were ones I recognised as they had entered into popular culture, such as the moon landing, JFK, Elvis etc. Some were new to me, such as Nazi moon bases. And there was one (number 1 in the list, I think) that said the royal family were shape-shifting lizard. I remember almost laughing out loud at this. You what? Shape-shifting lizards! Now, I have an enquiring mind and I wanted to find out more. Who actually believes this? Why? How? So I investigated further. Flash forward 5 years and I'm in as deep as the rabbit hole goes. I had read all of David Icke's books, spent more time than I can count on this forum, and of course the many hours of YouTube videos. So that's where it all begun for me... FHM. Pierre-Luc
I remember mine too. That was in 2002-2003. A documentary on the french version of discovery channel. It was on the Tora. The documentary was labeled as "the hidden code of the bible". Looking at it today and this was obvious that it was bias. Did not had internet at the time. The next step was a few years later with Zeitgeist...but i was in a pretty deep disagreament with some of the things and the way they put them...but still i learned. The missing piece of my real awakening was with the serie call"the arrivals". A friend of mine had burned those on a dvd...as soon as he told me that i had to watch it...i became almost in arrassing mode with him. And this was for me the missing piece of the puzzle. Later a lot more things were add to this.
wake_up_bomb
It began in earnest when someone mentioned Building 7 to me, in roughly February 2002. I always questioned things before that, but this cemented my worldview. I had digested tonnes of media coverage on 9/11, and I had never even heard of the 'collapse' of a third building. That was an eye-opener, and probably changed my life. Having said that, I wouldn't really say that I'm into conspiracies, I just realise that the social conditioning that most of the population absorbs and, to some extent, accepts, bears little or no relation to reality. I largely realised that before 9/11, but this was the catalyst that enabled me to begin to properly understand why I had always deemed the world to be upside-down, and indeed that my instinctual perspective was correct. - TZC -
Watching 9/11 on tv and the huge shift in ignoring unanswered questions the next day for me. I'd heard things as a kid and questioned a lot myself before then but that was where I was convinced it's a big club and we aren't in it. I heard god knows from who, that barcodes were the mark of the beast. And after deciphering the numbers attributed to the lines I realised the mark for start middle and end were actually 6. Must have been about 11 at that time. So I started early! And paid for it too I can guarantee you.

Interesting, 9/11 was a big game changer for me too. Looking back it was a real catalyst, in world events and personal perceptions of the world. Where I probably would have plodded along, dipping into the odd theory here and there. 9/11 sucked me right in and propelled me down the rabbit hole faster that you could say 'dancing Arabs on the bridge'. It certainly was a significant world shaping event. Perception of reality is fascinating to me, I think it is true that we all construct our own reality in some way. There are people out there who will try to alter our perception for our benefit. But, I've moved on from the more wild theories I used to hold on this. I recommend Adam Curtis' documentaries, HyperNormalisation, Bitter Lake, All watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace, if you haven't seen them. I think he gets very close to how the world really works.

"I was in secondary school", then " Flash forward five years" I don't see how, I would say I was peak Icke between 18-27ish. Guess that's not that uncommon. Suspicion of authority, an over analytical mind and a young adult trying to understand the world. What chance did I have! I don't know about everyone else but I didn't leap into the extreme end straight away. Think it begun with the police state/martial law stuff and then the questioning of reality itself and the more esoteric side of things. Once you undermine reality though, that's when you start picking up the more and more fringe stuff. From what I can tell, the fringe stuff then has become more mainstream now. I was really into the alien theories as well. I don't think I was ever 100% onboard with the reptilian theory but I did consider it possible. I loved all the ancient symbolism to with it. My logic was if people believe in God and that Jesus rose from the dead, then believing in aliens is no different - it's no less strange. And if you believe in aliens, then they could be anything, such as reptilians. Edited December 16, 2020 by Free_your_mind typo

One of the things I say quite often to my friend, who is very much awake, is that you have to remember...you don't consume any mainstream media, so you're not getting that perspective whatsoever. And then, on top of that, you consume tonnes of alternative media, books, etc. The average person is the polar opposite of that, so it's not that surprising that they cannot reason properly, even if they come out of education with any ability to do this. I haven't actually seen any of the films you mentioned yet, but I love Century of the Self, also by Adam Curtis, so I can recommend that to you if you haven't seen it! Yep the way they gently approach "the great picture" and the way they explain how they were trying to get us out of this programming(i know today it is a total mind control). It work really, really well for me. The way they kept repeating that they don't say that what they said was the truth but they though that it was very important that i listen closely. It was in the times that we still had some time ahead of us. Not only this documentary help me making sense of the reality in which i evolve, but while i was watching it i suddenly realize that i had real struggle making sense of particular sentences. Not that those sentences was hard to make sense...it was like just earring/reading in a foreign language which i had no clue how to understand....even with subtitles on....and always with isolate short sentences that were explaining a kind of principle. I then began to paused it and rewinding it, earring and reading it over and over until i finally understand what those sentences meant. Previous to that i attributed that to the fact that i was not intelligent enough. That was not the case at all. Today when something like that happen and that i am pretty sure that not just in my thinking stream, i know that i just mist a important piece of information that my current script was programmed to ignored. It is pretty rare today that those things happen to me...tank You Jesus.
simonb1977
It was 2004, my childhood best friend decided he would drag me along to a talk at Brixton academy from this guy who I'd never heard of, David Icke. Me and my friend had been best friends since childhood, went to the same school and i would best describe us as alternative thinkers, we spent literally years every school lunchtime debating life the universe and everything, we had the most engaging talks ever, suffice to say this was not normal behaviour and as such we were social outcasts, but we didn't care. We were however always at polar opposites, he was a guy of science and maths, he loved the physical, what could be proved and certainly did not believe in any life after death nonsense, but he loved conspiracies, a talented musician, grade 8 pianist and violinist in a rough rundown working class school he was the only person in that school that played piano, and strangely no-one took the piss or beat him up for it as even the bullies could see how good he was and weirdly respected it. He was without a doubt the most talented and intellectual person I've ever known, and I could never beat him in a debate. At age 18 he could tell you everything about banking, he loved fractional reserve banking conspiracies, could talk for hours on the subject, he knew the markets, the lot, if he'd been born to money he would have made a great stock broker. With my vastly different airy fairy beliefs in re-incarnation and spiritual outlook on life we always had plenty to talk about and our differences made for great debates. We would take the piss out of each other and have fun but end of the day he respected my beliefs and I his. I would always point out to him the fact that he dwelled on the negative while I had the positive outlook. Years before the Icke talk my Nan, a very intuitive lady, a descendent from a long line of Russian gypsies no less, had already swayed me and passed her knowledge on to me about the spirit world, conciseness, the hidden hand, and alike that David talks about. By 2004 I was starting to getting worried for my friend, by now he was obsessed by conspiracies, the 2001 twin towers was still a hot topic along with the gulf wars, banking conspiracies and financial corruption (some years before the 2008 crash) I had no interest in any of that really but to support my friend I sat there for the first two parts of the talk (about 4 hours) listening to mr Icke talk about mostly about conspiracies of various sorts. My ass hurt, Although, I was intrigued by what he said mainly I just remember the pain In my ass from those uncomfortable chairs, anyone who was there will know. Then part 3 came and wow, for this section was all about consciousness, the spiritual side, I listened as mr Icke explained the very same information my Nana had told to me when I was a kid, it was quite moving and a form of confirmation for me to have someone from a different background explain the same things, but to my friend as always that side of things was just a step to far. I actually queued at the end to meet David Icke as I wanted to speak to him about some of my nans experiences, but in the chaos of a big organised event such as it was it was not possible. In the years that followed after loosing a child my friends mental health deteriorated, while we continued our talks to an extent as at school I was very worried for him, whatever I did I could not stop him from dwelling on the negatives, he suffered from severe depression, anxiety and eventually diagnosed with bi-polar, as time went on he got even worse, more paranoid, health declined, he gained weight from the vast array of meds we was prescribed. He died last year of a stroke aged just 42 leaving behind a wife and 2 children. I beat myself up for not trying harder to help him more, but I know the awful negativity he was up against in his life, the conspiracies were not to blame but did him no favours , and while I know he tried to get over it, for him it was always a loosing battle. But my lost argument still stands for those that can listen, focus on the positives, not the negatives, rest in peace my friend. andy1033
I am not into conspiracy theories. I am just an analyst, and i want to analyse the world, and i like the truth, in this world of lies. I never got into it from the net. I became a target for uk gov mind control/usa mind control, in school, in 1992, and never have had a moment of privacy since. I lived my life until working at bbc later in 90's. When i left the bbc, i could not get another job, and they had stepped up a step in ruining my life. By turn of the century my life was ruined so much, it was practically impossible to live a normal life with the lack of privacy i had, and the way the invasion of privacy and fun these monsters were doing to me, ruined my life. So i know what it is like to have your life ruined for no reason by your gov. I personally believe they did this to me, as i was born of irish parents in london, and i would assume many irish descent people, must of been targeted for the garbage fun of uk gov. Brent council scum also played there local role in it. Thats what got me into analysing the world the way i do. Seeing as i have my own personal knowledge i know what gov targeting is like, and the very same way they targeted and ruined my life, i see similar tactics in how uk, and usa ruin countries they go after. So it means i have quite a bit of knowledge from my own life, and knowledge, things that most people never found out, or learned. I ignore the idiotic term conspiracy theorist. If they go back over what i said over the years, they will see how many times i was right, and they cannot stand it. They did there best in effect to drive me into the grave, and the fun they had they never assumed, i would work out the things i did, and i take great pleasure in using what i know, to see there plans ruined. The biggest fun i got in these years, was explaining how cheating existed in football, by big teams, and big nations. Today the english premier league teams and just destroying each other with non lethal weapons, and the epl is virtually a destroyed league, of teams destroying each other with weapons. Pure garbage the english premier league, and they are welcome to the world in which they are all ruining each other with non lethal weapon techs i told them about. Its funny how the net, if you know something, you can have an impact. I am not a conspiracy theorist, i am a analyst, and the fact that i know from what they did to me certain things, means i know more then most about things work. The people with mind control techs, from uk, and usa are pure sadistic scum. At least in my own small way, it has cost both for ruining my life. The net and a bit of knowledge can go along way. If you have more knowledge then the average person(thats not saying much), you can make a small difference. Football as a sport is virtually ruined because of me telling people what i know about how non lethal weapons were being used by big teams and big nations(like england, and man utd) to cheat. Also it showed me, that humans are mostly corrupt arses who are not worth anything real, as given the chance most people would screw over anyone to get what they want. Today football is now kill or be killed. No morals exist in the game anymore, and have not this century(although mostly this past decade), as info and knowledge takes quite a while to get around. Because of me, there is a non lethal weapons race in todays football, and they are all welcome to the idiotic world of cheating football teams screwing each other over. So like i said, i do not use term conspiracy theory, and if they go back over the years, its amazing how many times i was right. Up yours mostly to my country of birth uk for what they did to me, with there sadistic mind control. They never thought i would work out what i did, and how that in turn led to other things. These people do not care how they ruin a persons life for there fun. Edited December 30, 2020 by andy1033
HigherVibration
I was watching a movie actually called deep Impact. It was at that moment I left religion behind nearly completely, and started searching for the truths that lie in everything. Because everything in this world holds all truth and deceit simultaneously, imo. For example. Fiction film is not so fiction. The Bible holds many truths, but also many lies. But honestly it was that singular moment that it dawned on me anything in this universe is possible, so why reject something simply because it makes me feel uncomfortable? New poster here. I've run across David Icke before and watched a view of his seminars on YouTube a few years back when he wasn't banned. Left it behind as an "it makes sense but I dont knowwwww" and now I'm back. Joined the forums, and signed up to Ickes monthly subscription. Hello the non sheep! Dont let this stuff in the world get you down. Keep seeking to raise your vibration and frequency, become self reliant. The world is fighting back without knowing it. Peace!

Guest
What got me into conspiracy theories? This is naff I know but it was a mix of Colin Wilson, Charles Fort, William James, Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, Arthur Findlay and films: 'Communion' Whitley Streiber Unexplained (NASA) and the X files. Oh and Ivan Sanderson, Ufologist, well worth a read.

Garrison
I always had a interest and then I watched the film JFK with Kevin Costner (1991) and that put me on the road to enlightenment so to speak.I bought loads of books on jfk which then progressed onto Rfk and then onto Jim Marrs etc and the rest is history. The thing is back then conspiracies ( or whatever you want to call them) were pretty well hidden so you had to do a lot of research and even then you would question wether it was right, you were always left with a bit doubt. But now it's so bloody obvious there isn't any doubt as to what's going on, you would think that even the normal man/woman in the street would see what's going on as they aren't even trying to cover it up tbh it's the worst shambles I have ever seen. But NO these fcukwits are buying it hook line and sinker. I think I now know how people like Jim Garrison,Jim Marrs,David Icke etc must have felt when they saw what's actually happening but were smacking their heads against a brick wall trying to convince others. Thank God they just didn't give up and stuck to their guns in the hope someone would eventually actually believe them.
