As a layman I would like to try and understand the basics of virology pre Covid and ideally mainstream and or peer review material.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're familiar with scientific lingo and research papers in general, the best items to read would be the individial papers published in the world's leading peer-reviewed journals in virology, molecular biology, biochemistry, etc; and more broadly, evolutionary biology. There are dozens of these, if not hundreds. Also, study the history of virology to place all the modern lingo and disciplines in the appropriate context [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_virology ]. That's the best I can suggest, if you want to go deep into the discipline of virology.

Just be clear the reason why i want it to be mainstream general consensus is because i want to compare it to what they are saying now.

PS. In addition to my comment above, just target your searches within those journals for all dates before Covid-19 was first reported. Custom search.

@Fluke They claim SARS Cov 2 to be a coronavirus. Here is an article overviewing the history of coronaviruses:

A Brief History of Human Coronaviruses

https://www.the-scientist.com/news-opinion/a-brief-history-of-human-coronaviruses-67600

Included is a historical timeline beginning at 1965. That should offer some clues for targeting your investigations for pre-covid 19 searching on how virologists talked about these types of viruses before all this latest madness.

Let us know what you find out.

That is not a legitimate source for the original poster's question. DarianF has answered perfectly with his answer.

The banner at the bottom of that website asking for donations is a bit of a giveaway. The website is full of biased, sensationalist and alarmist information.

As DarianF suggests, go and look at peer-reviewed scientific information and come to your own conclusions. Good luck.

the link i gave takes you to a website where they have collected together over a 1000 peer reviewed studies

they have even categorised them so that you can look into specific things. That way people can look at the science and come to their own conclusions. Good luck!

You do understand the following first?

The immune system---------Lymphocytes are commonly referred to as B cells and T cells. Both types originate from the bone marrow.  These fight Pathogens such as Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells.

Prokaryotic ( The Pathogens we are coincerned with) cells Contain a form of DNA within the cells in rings rather than a nucleus, the cell sequence becomes degraded/mutates because it is not in a nucleus----

Nucloid is an irregularly shaped region within the prokaryotic cell that contains all or most of the genetic material in the form of RNA-----see attached  2017-04-01_2234.png

As posted in a more vague thread again here as it seems more focused on the thing called research. no offence! So....

Isolated? Sequenced as the final step of confirmation? Well an additional question i have is are these claims of genome sequencing real? They must have been disproven and after all David an Jon must have sources beyond my knowledge to clarify my uncertainties. As if i had seen or listened somewhere to what where the contradictions explaining those mistakes done when conducting the genome sequencing. Does anyone has an article disproving these...
