Some people see many colours, some few. Some feel God, some don't. All according to society, if society is coarse then you experience only coarse loud things, if society is refine you experience refined things. So your contact with reality is not based on your senses, but which of your senses have been used and activated by your education. Something like that. In the older books we can see that people had a wide field of experiencing reality, and I think even today it is narrowing further and further. There are forces that always contract things, they are forces of degeneration that always exist, they continously challenge us. And we must continue to grow to push through. What human beings see in the world ... they see what they have been taught to see, using the senses they have been taught to use. Everything else is unknown. Whenever you use one of your functions ... it needs to be learned and experimented with ... for instance, thinking can be wrong stupid and delusional ... but through good education you learn to use it. Same with sexual feelings, you have to learn what they mean and when to act on them. Same with all senses and faculties. Personally I do Qigong, and it is the same ... there are many ways to be delusional about qigong, but you can learn. Reaction Time I remember reading a study over about 70 years that showed that the reaction time of people has vastly diminished since Victorian times ... people are slower, dumber, duller. And reaction time - physical motor skills ... is a measure of IQ, it is strongly correlated with IQ. Or another way of saying it, intelligence begins in the body. George Orwelll's English He is a famous for writing 1984 and Animal Farm ... but he also wrote about using English. How people these days (must have been in the 50s he said it) have stopped using language properly, instead they borrow ready made expressions like "at the end of the day" ... or "off the shelf" .... or "the grass is always greener". People have started to borrow words rather than taking care to express themselves. It is another sign of laziness and stupidization, and degeneration. Ultra Violet I read recently that human eyes can actually see the UV spectrum (it looks very bright white with a tinge of purple) ... and also that the rods cells in the eyes do not just see black and white but have some faint colour in it. The body is a very powerful and .... unknown instrument. It has many hidden powers. By design though Ride, because I don't think society set out to become dumber, slower and less cognitive. Clearly educational systems around the world have sought to degrade proper education. You are correct though that education and society as a whole has become a lot stupider since those bygone times, but I don't blame the people, I blame the system which is the root cause of all of this.
