I'm no expert, but you may also want to consider https://wordpress.com/support/uploading-documents/ for document upload. It is just a pain in the arse .... but is expected and will become a 'new normal' that any information not in line with the current bullshit will be 'black bagged'! The worst for me was having my own website hacked to death and the 100's of hours I lost :( But I have all the information .... on multiple external keys/drives .... so it is not so bad :) I am watching the new link and if it is deleted then any new link will be going to PM.
