Hmm well humans are spiritual, and there will always be those that create groups about that, aka religions, which in turn influence how a culture looks. I believe the current era of secularism in the west is going to be the odd page in human history. Always painting outside groups in a negative light won't buy us much sympathy, especially when we're a minority. They'll remember our words and wont care if we're being destroyed. They need to know that we're not out to get them, and that we just want to survive like them in my opinion. I guess this is where you're right about how we need to take personal responsibility instead of always blaming others too. Not really sure what I'm trying to get at, I guess I just mean that we should make it clear that we're blaming certain people for things, but not all of their group. My nana and my great aunt were the last bastion of this kind of common sense... but things like decency, distrust and non acceptance of foreigners who don't fit-in, women (and men) being shamed and shunned for immoral behaviour and breaking social cohesion. No-one gave these people the Rulebook on how to based. They just naturally were because they had identity and they valued themselves as a homogenous relatively harmonious community. You have to be over 40 I guess to remember it....... At the time I thought my nana was old fashioned and a bit 'racist'. Now time has proved that these people's instincts were right all along. I know a lot of people from this forum have settled in and are planning to go to Bulgaria, which is an interesting option.... Interesting people..... According to one website their genetics are majority pre-Slavic ancient Balkan tribes such as Thracians and Illyrians which were an ancient people mentioned by Homer. Bulgaria is back on the list for me..... cheap but a bit cold...... Anyone out there part of the Bulgaria diaspora how are you getting on?
