Large numbers out in Paris today.

The 'Global Security' bill would make it illegal to disseminate images in which police officers or gendarmes can be personally identified, and has been widely criticised by activists and journalists, who state it would present a danger to press freedom. The bill was approved by the French National Assembly, the lower house of the French Parliament, on Tuesday and is expected to go before the country's senate in January.

'Journalists' claiming for their freedom of what ? Lying ?

Among other articles in this law are remote surveillance and filming by drones, or the permission for policemen to wear their gun when off-duty… you'll soon have 'random' people wearing guns in the street and accidents might not be long to happen including cops on duty firing on 'civilians' by mistake, because a cop isolated in the crowd being not assisted by colleagues might easily feel in danger and avoid intervening for the slightest motive without pulling the gun out… not even US laws allow what we neither need in Europe… we are CIVILIZED peoples…

Not my words Chud, but copied from the video description in the OP. That said, there are some citizen journalists/activists out there reporting events

more openly than the MSM hacks.  For example this guy covered four hours of the London protest today

Thanks for the other info about police wearing guns off duty etc.

What I meant is that article #24 is a minor detail compared to the rest of the law that by-passed the democratic process, so once again it looks 'fake' because once 'people' have protested against the article they won't protest against the law anymore, and the all rest that's much more freedom-depriving will be let pass... people will be told they 'had' their protest already...
