Kids Growing Up Today Are Really UNLUCKY!

What strikes me with modern kids, they are the first generation without any identifiable youth cults.

They nearly all dress and look the same as their parents generation.. .

Clone sportswear, clone trainers, clone haircut, individuality is dead. Did you ever see a teenage goth in the last 5 years for example?

From what I can see all the youth cults of today are being conducted via the internet, and most of the creative and rebellious energy is neutralized or eaten up by things like gaming, porn and social media. Many of the kids who would have displayed the most originality in the past are either processed by the mental health industry or simply end up committing suicide.

While I don’t think things like goth or punk were themselves all that productive or even wholly organic, they were meaningful in the sense that they represented a symbolic rejection of the status quo that made itself seen in the real world and required a certain level of commitment to maintain, and they put forth worldviews that at least got a lot of kids thinking critically about modern society and their place in it. Now it seems that everyone has simply submitted to the power of the technocrats over their lives without any thought that they might be resisted, or even token gestures to forge an identity or a culture outside their systems of control.

Punk did put the shits up the establishment.

The youth cults were a chance to break away and do your own thing, any vibrant counterculture seems non-existent now.

When I was 17 I would not ever have dressed the same as my parents, we have regressed to pre 1950 levels of stasis?

The last new counterculture movement as far as I know was rave music in the late 80s.?

Kids today are fucked, but they have inherited a society that is screwed. People need to cut them some slack. Why do youngsters on Steam forums seem more awake than adults that vegetated in front of the TV for years? Why is the ADL going after gamers if they're all robots?

Compared to the 1980s/1990s kids:

- Kids today are under 24/7 digital surveillance and data gathering

- The Data Gatherers SIT THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY IN SILICON VALLEY AND ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO HOLD TO ACCOUNT

- Kids are so phone/screen/technology addicted that 50% or so will be OBESE and unhealthy adults

- The Schoolyard Bully is EVERPRESENT now, thanks to the myriad Trolls and other Assholes who are Online daily

- There is growing evidence that PORN CONSUMPTION among youth is affecting their sexual/romantic behavior in VERY bad ways

- GROWN ADULTS are TRYING TO FORCE LGBTQ/GENDER CONFUSION CRAP ON TODAY'S KIDS

- Everything digital that kids buy - especially Computer Games - is locked down with DRM/mandatory cloud accounts

- They can't really trade computer game discs, music, films in the schoolyard like we used to

- Quality print magazines have largely given way to trashy Internet Blogs and such

- Popular Culture today is SHIT - DEVOID OF ARTISTIC TALENT, full of WEIRD AGENDAS AND MANIPULATION

- Music, Film and other arts have GONE TO SHIT as well. We had Fellini and Hitchcock. They have Michael Bay and Marvel Movies.

- By the time many of these kids get a career, AI WILL HAVE NUKED MANY ENTRY-LEVEL JOBS

Thank fuck I was born in 1949.

I personally believe that God himself arranged for youths to be "somewhat rebelious against society", because he knew that human societies can become oppressive and stagnant.

The kids of each generation fighting established cultural norms and values was probably supposed to bring fresh air into any discussion of how society should function.

Almost all of the great thinkers, writers, scientists, inventors and politicians in history were MAJOR REBELS against the status quo of their time.

For example, NIKOLA TESLA was a decidedly ODD FIGURE in 1890s NEW YORK. He didn't live or think or behave ANYTHING like his fellow New Yorkers of the time.

And he gave us OVER 700 PATENTS THAT BROUGHT ABOUT THE "ELECTRIC AGE".

Millenials TOWING THE LINE on everything is DANGEROUS. As are the AGENDAS THEY ARE BEING FORCED TO FURTHER - LGBTQ/GENDER CRAPPERY comes to mind.

It is ALSO DANGEROUS THAT THE ESTABLISHMENT TRIED TO CUT MILLENIALS OFF FROM GOOD ART - MUSIC, MOVIES, LITERATURE HAVE ALL GONE IN THE TOILET RIGHT AROUND THE TIME THE MILLENIALS WERE BORN.

It is BLATANTLY OBVIOUS THAT TO THE PTB, THE MILLENIANS ARE "A GENERATION TO BE RUINED".

AND THEY ARE DOING A GOOD JOB OF IT!

I also believe that THE MILLENIALS ARE BEING RUINED BECAUSE THEY ARE - IN THE RELIGIOUS SENSE - A "CHOSEN GENERATION" THAT CAME ALONG EXACTLY 2000 YEARS AFTER CHRIST.

The ESTABLISHMENT'S BLATANTLY INVERSE-CULTURAL, INVERSE-HUMANIST AND INVERSE-RELIGIOUS ANTI-RELIGION PROBABLY MANDATES THAT THE MILLENIALS BE COMPLETELY WRECKED AS A GENERATION.

Simple explanation for that. Parents born in the 1970s and 1980s are a generation that made money/got a career by toeing-the-line.

This means getting degrees that make money - not very rebelious - and being careful to become and stay 9-to-5 employable.

None of the people I went to University with were rebels - all just wanted to work for big companies and buy a house by the time they are 30.

Do you really expect a generation like this to "raise little rebels"?

It's hard. My ten year old was always bemoaning at school about having to pretend she likes the likes of Little Mix and Taylor Swift.

Without sounding wanky, her dad and I have exposed her to a very diverse mix of music as well as the odd naff tune..basically whatever happens to resonate with us or the crappier ones , just being a bit of fun.

Actually,  'exposed' is a terrible word as that infers that a lot of calculation went into it. When it's just music we enjoy and play at home. Not music that we are supposed to like that must appeal to someone in our age bracket/demographic.. something that we sought out with no thought to whether it was the 'appropriate' thing that defines us as such and such, 'hip', 'together', 'normal' human beings.

Such is the mono culture we are living in, I sincerely hope there will be something culturally left with a bit of heart when she's a teenager.

I don't know..surely there are other parents out there who'd like to see a bit of spark in the young adults of tomorrow..unless they are just hoping their offspring will toe the line like they did. Mask up and soldier on...

Where have all the characters gone?!

more awake

More awake ... means what?

What "kids" need is specific, ... they need the ground, they need practical real self knowledge, opportunity, training, divnity , love, challenge, testing ... if not they don't grow.  It's not abstract it is real and right here.

Well I don't have kids, but ...

I heard recently that you should never praise kids ... because if you do it distorts their feelings for things, then they do it to get praise rather than because they want to.

And you should certainly not waggle the rainbow plastic mothercare toys in their face and say "cooey" like you are talking to a moron, or you will turn a soul into a moron.

But then again, light comes from light.

I'm talking about the younger generation that are more into memetics and noticing patterns. Obviously not all youngsters though.

If you were to look at Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, you would think most youngsters are lost. The amount of celeb worship and jumping on sinister political bandwagons is pretty high. The folks on those platforms are the ones that will often always have their heads buried in their phones too.

Looking at other parts of the internet paints a different picture though, at least for me. Take 4chan example, there are threads that can be pretty negative, but then there are things like SIG (Self Improvement General) threads that can be pretty enlightening. With gaming, PC gamers also seem to be a bit more aware of current agendas in society than console gamers, but consoles are more mainstream I guess.

I totally agree. Ideally I wouldn't have youngsters sitting on computers, but I still think we need more good guys in tech fields too. It depends where you live as well. If I lived in a rough environment, I would be concerned about my kid getting in trouble outside. I wouldn't want to get to the point where technology is babysitting my kid though. Just got to find a balance and make sure you foster more productive habits in them too I suppose.

@rideforever

Gamergate is an example of the pendulum swinging back after progressives pushing too much far leftist agendas in games. Folks like Sargon grew from that.

People have mixed views on him, but the whole gamergate thing still woke up a lot of youngsters, that's what I mean, so they can't all be total robots.
