The designers were certainly far smarter than me. I don't deny that for a second. It's an almost supernatural feat of human engineering genius. If you're trying to create an eight-sided effect then only the upper visible casing stones would need to be slightly incised to achieve the effect. If anything the real knowledge to be gained here is that the apparent eight sided effect of the lower course of stones gives an insight into how the pyramid was actually constructed... Probably with a high central core, like the Meidum pyramid but with ramps or scaffolds radiating out from four central median points, the presence of these scaffolds would create a kind of lateral bias in the construction which would appear as an indentation which could be remedied by the smooth sloped casing stones. But you missed that. Oh well.

Unlikely. Unless they specifically shaped the casing stones to create a false spine effect and although this is possible, it is unlikely. Solely because if the casing stones were intended to create an eight sided effect then the base stones wouldn't need to, and since the base stones show this eight sided effect I conclude it's probably an accident of the construction of the pyramid.

I've been there. You can still observe the remaining casing stones at the bottom and top of the pyramid.

The pyramid was never intended to be seen like this. It used to be covered with casing stones. Those spines are probably just the places where the scaffolding or the ramps were placed.

It is incredible, but such feats were common to the Greeks. The Templars rediscovered ancient Greek and Roman building techniques which had been lost during the 'dark ages'.

It was originally covered with polished white limestone casing stones. It is unlikely that it would have originally shown eight sides. The fact is probably purely incidental and just an effect of the way the pyramid was constructed. Possibly with a central spine ramp and the stones were laid radiating out from this central spine which would create a residual effect of it having eight sides.

Well for instance, anyone who visited the Giza plateau will be able to tell you that the whole area is full of deep shafts and secret tunnels, there is also a great deal of water erosion damage everywhere including inside the pyramids themselves. Inside the pyramids the chambers are full of salt peter/ ammonium nitrate because there is so much water just under the surface which seeps into the stones. This tells us the whole area was likely full of water in ancient times which has only recently subsided. Perhaps the theory that the Pyramid was a giant hydraulic ram water pump are correct. There's a lot in that, and that is not a theory supported by mainstream Egyptologists. There are visible tunnels underneath the Sphinx for instance which clearly indicate that the Sphinx was used as an oracle where the priest of Oracle would enter the head of the Sphinx and 'speak' for the Sphinx. Hawass is nothing but a dumbass and pawn of the Egyptian government who want to restrict access to the site because they, perhaps rightfully, fear some weird kind of Freemasonic disinformation campaign, which is why they prevented the year 2000 ceremony which was planned by the arch bullshitter Graham Hancock and his Freemasonic coterie. Well the difference is I went to see for myself. Didn't just read something in a book and get it second hand. Anyway, I came to these conclusions myself from my own exploration of Ancient Egypt when I lived there. It just happens that Egyptologists agree with me.

And people believe that Ancient Egyptian civilisation and their architecture just sprang out of no where, but this just isn't true. The oldest burial structures, or Mastabas, are made of simple mud brick, which where then later made of stone, and then from these simple structures the idea of building a stepped pyramid came and then this was further developed into the true pyramid. There are even examples of early pyramids collapsing because they were inexperienced in the optimum angle which is why the so called 'bent' pyramid had an abrupt angle change in order that it didn't collapse like the 'pyramid' of Meidun. The red pyramid predates the great pyramid and has a shallower angle than the Great Pyramid because they were still experimenting with how high they could actually make their pyramids while ensuring maximum stability: Everything the ancient Egyptians did has a clear sequence of progression from primitive forms to advanced forms.

I think it's really that simple. If people just got rid of their TV's and Sky and Virgin cable subsciptions and stopped paying the licence fee the propaganda would end and we would literally all wake up out of our slumber.
