Perhaps if you weren't an atheist you wouldn't feel like killing yourself. Perhaps you're wrong and there is a God. Perhaps life isn't worthless. Why don't you make small steps and try to enjoy small pleasures....then take it from there. At least consider it. I would say that a belief system which makes you want to kill yourself isn't fit for purpose and is obviously founded on some fundamental error and miscalculation. You BELIEVE there is no God and no afterlife. You have adopted a belief system which is antithetical to your own life. This ought to be proof alone that it is wrong.

I'd probably say that if they have managed to destroy your spirit to the extent that you reject God and the possibility that there is more to life then they have succeeded. Probably the ultimate crime they can commit against us is teach us to deny our own eternal and immortal natures.

When I feel really down I meditate for an hour then go for a mountain hike or a run..... then come back and sink a few beers..... maybe watch an old movie or something......
