The strangest (and most frightening at the time) thing that ever happened to me occurred when I was 17 years old (33 years ago, as I am now 50). I still remember it vividly to this day.
Here's what happened :-
It was a Saturday night and I was on my own in my mum and dad's house, downstairs in the Living Room watching Blind Date (Cilla Black!).
I started to hear a "whishing" noise coming from upstairs. I muted the TV and the noise was a hairdryer which had switched itself on in the bedroom at the top of the stairs. Very weird.
