I have a small wind turbine. Plus water small water turbine. I use these because there both fairly easy to repair and maintain. This covers my electricity and heating. Unless no wind. Then I go without. Im currently looking into better energy storage. Not cheap, so im looking at ways to improvise.

I will relax in my garden with my homegrown food, renewable energy and clean drinking water. If it’s cold I will sit by a nice cosy fire. Lots to read and plenty of jobs to maintain my way of living.

This is the core issue we are facing imo. If we want a better world to live in. A fair and just world we need dialogue. Dialogue not run by politicians or hidden money. A real problem we face in building this society is that people are happy, in some ways, in their comfort zone. My counter to the WEF”s, we will own nothing and be happy would be we own what we need and be happy. If the powers that be really wanted a better world, education would change from, a system of basics to get a job, to a system that teaches empathy, how to fix things, how to nurture what we have. I know it all sounds like an unachievable utopia but if we don’t strive for something positive we let “devil” rule us.

Fair points. The thing for me about hope is that, (not meaning yourself), I believe it is a false positive. The opposite of hope is positive action,. If we all wait on hope we are doomed. Not just in the context we are discussing. A small example would be when we have stressful things to deal with. It’s easy to become negative, to think a situation is hopeless. Through personal experience, I have found that to attempt to deal with a problem in a calm and methodical manner will help resolve issues. I guess I’m saying we make our own Hope.

I don’t disagree that it could just be mind games. The west does appear to be steering itself towards the communism playbook though. A lot of new laws seem to aimed at removing the last vestiges of real freedom. The thing with their mind games is that they have developing and refining them pretty much forever. The same with all the tools they have in toolbox. I personally believe that the openness of their actions is an indication of them being ready to deal with anything. Feeling, rightly or not, that they have an unassailable position. I think covid showed that the average person would not defend their rights or freedoms. Greece, proved that regardless of democratic process, would do what they want. Remember the police there used force against their families. Loved ones out protesting. You would think they would of swapped sides.
