But the Bible also says you shouldn't burn your children alive in weird pagan rituals.

Do you disagree with this too?

On a side note, homosexuality in the ancient world was synonymous with paedophilia, since after the example of the Greeks there was an initiatory phase involving a child not yet a man who is 'seduced' by an older man who becomes his tutor and companion. Things are hardly different now since every homosexual I would bet, was 'initiated' into homosexuality by being a victim of paedophilia.

This is one example of why a rule against homosexuality might be a good thing.

    Proof?

Its doesnt say that at all and I even gave you a link to the article that states clearly that the rabbinical teachings dont say its that.

You just want people to believe an unproven claim to demonise other ancient cultures.

The bible say you will not allow you children to pass through the fire, which would have been part of a protective rite. It does not say you will not sacrifice your children.

    Judaism came from paganism.

Why so mad at Christians then? All I see is churches embracing homosexuality these days.

All of them? Im quite sure its variable.

I find them irritating for many reasons.

The fact is, those rules were meant to keep the birth rate up in a desert tribe, whose survival depended on having lots of kids. So many of the rules would seem to be more about general living than divine commands but Im quite sure the scribes understood that if they claim divine origin that people will feel more compelled to follow them.

How does one force a religion on someone with quotes? Can you elaborate?

By telling others that the bible is the only truth, then quoting passages from it. Eg, many religious people are intolerant of gays and will quote Deuteronomy where it says gays are an abomination. Against other religions they will quote the first commandment. Then they remind them that the threat of disbelief is to go to hell, etc. I'm quite sure you know the drill the fundies follow.

I'm not entirely sure Aristotle actually said that, and I certainly don't think 'tolerance' had the same potentially negative connotations then as it does now.

In any case, being intolerant isn't a virtue. We are broadly different and we put up with each others' differences, at least that's how civilised society works.

Tolerance has a new meaning now, one alien to me, it means accepting trannies in your kids' schools and welcoming refugees. These are all new and alien concepts and ideas for which 'tolerance' does not apply because the word has never been used in the context before. I will stick the old definition.

Marpat is classically intolerant. He has the witchfinder attitude. Give people like this power and they will burn heretics regardless of the faith being followed.  This is why all he does is talk about Christianity, something he hates, and is trying to root out and persecute heretics who differ from his opinions.

Lol, depends on what subject we discuss. My tolerances vary according to peoples attitudes.

Trying to demonise me? I am not arsed what religion you follow but it just narks me when people try to force their religion onto other, using bible quotes, etc. I dont have a religion as such, so I cant be pushing one.

    Perhaps you are.

I certainly consider you dishonest, hypocritical, intolerant, duplicitous and vengeful. This has nothing to do with your beliefs but how you comport yourself here.

You don't come across as one of the good guys.

But Im not. I dont believe satan is a specific entity that wants to destroy humanity or is the root of evil. Jesus called Peter satan. Peter denied Jesus 3 times and yet Jesus supposedly built his church on that 'rock'. Satan can be any person who stands as an adversary. Im sure that in the Hebrew bible the angel that block the path of Balaams ass is described as a satan. This was the first use of that name!

    Balaam and the Adversary (jesuswordsonly.com)

Its amusing how you label me as you are basically all of the things you judge me as.

Maybe in light of that link I am the satan against your hypocrisy, lol

This is the key point though. An opinion is not imposing views on anyone.

I have had countless christians call me evil, a satanist, etc when they dont even know me. They base such judgments on what sunday school told them about the devil. Its not an opinion, they base such negative judgements on long established church doctrine.

Why would you be bothered if you don't share their beliefs?

I just just like the arrogance they display, that they consider their beliefs the only truth when investigation into their scriptures show a patchwork of editing and pseudographia. Im sick of these types quoting the bible at others as if it gives them the right to impose on the lives of others, or try and use such verses to give some sort of credibility to their claims.

If this were correct, you'd be absolutely right, but unfortunately it wasn't the giants mating with the women of the earth. it was the 200 fallen angels that landed on Mount Herman 33 degrees.

It wast this union between the fallen angels and the women which produced these giants.

These fallen angels had to watch there offspring's die during the deluge.

Because these giants were half angelic an half human, it was there immortal spirits which lived on and were forced to roam the earth as these evil demonic spirits looking for human bodies to possess

Unfortunately some of these Giant's survived the deluge, like Og.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Og

Yes but dont you think the foetus of a giant would also be too big for a human woman to carry full term?

Your post is basically the christian explanation of why there are other Gods.

I have no reason nor strong motivation to doubt the text.  Why should I?

You however are motivated to doubt the text because it is a specific threat to you and your life decisions.

    Interesting eh?

By the way I don't particularly consider myself any more intelligent than anyone else... but I guess you think I am for you to mention it. That's interesting too. I wish I could return the compliment but sadly I cannot. The fact is I just like books, researching stuff and finding out what's really going on... I've also had some interesting life experiences which have opened my eyes to a few things...

No harm in having healthy scepticism is there? buddha encouraged his followers to question his teachings rather than follow them without question.

Its the people who refuse to ask questions who are blind, trusting books that have been changed over time but claiming they are the written word of God. I didnt realise he needed a human editor.

Not all Christians believe in their faith for fear of eternal damnation, why do a lot of leftists think like that? Not saying you're a lefty, but I see hell come up a lot when discussing Christianity.

Well I see a lot of them telling other people they will go there.

There is no evidence to suggest that they were not written by the people claimed.

This is just supposition on your part.

For instance, it appears that the Gospel of Luke was originally written for an audience of one, so there is no question of this being some fabrication of malicious ends, it is just what it says it is and clearly identified a real living relationship between Luke and his reader.

Nor does it attempt to hide that it is a written record of oral traditions about Jesus, and indeed, as he says, MANY have written about Jesus, and perhaps a great deal has been lost over time.

The fact is Marpat, you have to use mental gymnastics to refute the Bible because you do not want it to be true.

I however merely accept these things as what they are, ancient biographies. I do not need to reject them or invent reasons they might not be true, I can just accept reality as it appears. I have no fundamental issue with the content of the texts, unlike you who has a very strong motivation for attacking these texts, because not to do so, shows that you yourself have lived a life fully in error.

And man will go to great lengths to delude himself that he is right even when all about him tells him the contrary.

Why dont you actually research how it was created? my views are not belief, they are based on information on how the bible was created. This is not mental gymnastics.

You take an ancient book at face value yet consider yourself intelligent. You seem to think it give you authority. You dont have 'issues' with the text because for people like you, its a matter of having to believe or suffer for eternity. Lovely choices but that fear keeps large numbers in check.

There is plenty of information out there on this stuff. You can refuse to look because you are afraid of your faith being questioned, and therefore your life, but remember that when you are trying to down talk other people who have had their eyes opened to the reality of the bible.

Yes I am.  But energy work is always low level stuff because it is a path for those with little intelligence, and for people with little feeling.  Such people cannot do ordinary paths so there are some paths for people who don't: they are :

    - fakir : using the physical body

    - energy work : using the subtle body

    - grace : somebody does everything for you

The "ordinary" paths that most use are:

    - bhakti : feeling

    - jnana : intelligence

    - transmission : the student and teacher co-operate to create a bond at a state

But ... the important thing is that you do what works for you an find a way out.  Even for geniuses there are people smarter than them.  Souls are different and have different destinies.

Never heard it ever described as a path for dim people. Im quite sure Patanjalis writings dont describe it as you do. If it has the power to unite you with God then how is that low level? isnt that the goal of all attainment?

I've bin browsing the forum but couldn't find a topic related to what I want to get of my chest.

Right now I'm unemployed, I had a job but thanks to the "covid pandemic" my employer had to let me go. All people in my life firmly believe the lies that the media spits out and basically I'm branded a nutjob and a "illuminati believer". Because my income is slashed to a third of what it was I now live in a room that is five square meters with no private bathroom or kitchen. My family split when I was four, long story but basically they are not very nice people, so I am alone in all this.

I know the truth about our reality and I know that this dimension we call "reality" is at best just another stop on the road to infinite love. I just have a hard time dealing with all the madness and I catch myself having moodswings, headaches and suffering from depression. Also when face to face with other people I have a hard time expressing myself properly. Perhaps you folks here have some pointers or experience simular emotions that you would like to share?

Also, when I came to this world my parents gave me a name and the matrix gave me an indentity that I no longer want, not that I ever wanted it. Am I completely out of my mind if I'm going to start tomorrow with a new name and being the person I want to be, a person of my own making? The person I know I am?

Years ago I spent time unemployed and turned to a spiritual path. Daily meditations of positive energy, studying subjects that give hope, etc. I realise this doesnt pay the bills but things like that can help to create a mindset that can help to move forward.

One of the simplest things you can do is following the breath while relaxing. Just watch it come and go, then pay attention to where it stops and starts, etc. If thoughts rise and carry your mind away just gently let them go, come back to your centre and continue.

They arnt really Catholics tho, like David says about Sabbateans posing as Jews.

The temple that used to stand there was a temple to Jupiter. Same as the Vatican is full of these effigies like the black statue of Jew Peter.

This is all documented in Roman history & the Temple mount.

The Vatican layout is all about sun worship & everything about the place is occult & nothing to do with Jesus Christ as Christians perceive him.

Thats how Satanist mock their victims.

So yea the cult that run the Vatican want that temple for whatever reason.

Noahide laws is really about transhumanism as well I would say, not any religion.

So if a person cant prove they are what they claim, the next step is to claim they are posing instead? isn't that just so convenient. You can create any fiction by using such claims.

Why are so many of these posts about Jesus, from the perspective of people who think they are more intimately acquainted with him than others that are supposedly not christian enough?

You do realise that with no sun there would be no life on earth? cant you see why it would be seen as a creator of life?
