We simply can't let these fools get away with dictating to us. That's how I feel about it anyway.

    Me too.

I wouldn't mind so much if what they did made sense, but so often it doesn't.

Claiming to be environmentally conscious by shutting down oil drilling but buying it in from abroad and instigating a recycling regime and just send it abroad to be dealt with.

As the Strangler's sung 'when politicians do things by half'

At least back in the 80's, doing things by half meant policies that didn't do much.

This Labour government are not doing it by halves. They are all in totalitarian.

We can soon teach the control freak busybodies that their sanctimonious interfering is both unwelcome and unprofitable.

    I thinks so to.

    People stop going.

But then that's one more social or leisure thing we can do gone.

    They're ruining pubs.

    Closing nightclubs.

We'll just have museums left where we can learn who historically was gay and who was a slave owner.

Another poster on here has a thread claiming the UK unduly accuses Russia and China of espionage and persecutes them for political purposes, but I feel the opposite is the reality. Despite so called "sanctions", that seem to amount to very little in reality, there are no limits or restrictions of Russians and Chinese entering this country. A miniscule number of Russians have been sanctioned by this country. The vast majority are still free to launder their dirty money here.

The UK courts dropping an espionage case against a Chinese citizen seems par for the course for this country, mustn't upset the Chinese and Russians. The weakness of Britain after the Novichok attack is so typical of this country too. Can you imagine Russia or China putting up with a similar attack by Britain in their country? Not on your nelly.

I read recently that the Chinese have cut off the water supply to the British embassy in Beijing to try and press the British government into approving China's plans for a huge embassy in London. This is what we are up against, a country that plays dirty and for whom there are no rules. Can you imagine Britain cutting off water to an embassy as a tactic to try and pressure their government? There would be international outrage.

The Russians and Chinese laugh at how weak and naive we are, I am certain of it.

We was weak before but Labour has basically surrendered.

When we get the ID cards and social credit system we will all be banned from more than one coke a day!

I can see a time when the government introduce some “Healthy Lifestyle to Save the NHS” bill. If we choose to eat unhealthy and drink unhealthy we need to pay a premium for NHS services.

I recall some people calling for that kind of system during the covid scam. Anyone not jabbed shouldn’t be allowed nhs care.

    It’s gonna happen… sugar tax is already a thing…

Couple the ID with Digital Currency and I can see a day when we go to the pub and after a number of drinks our money will be shut off.

You've had what we believe is enough, the government says go home.

Thats if pubs survive, it seems to me part of the agenda is to remove public meeting places.

    So we don't talk.

They did it with Coffee Shops before, the Public would meet, no doubt someone bought a newspaper and they would discuss.

It was feared a revolution might arise from the Public meeting up to discuss current affairs.

It sounds mad, but I think Starmer and others are mad.

I think they are trying to break the system while restricting our freedoms so they can eventually say 'whoops, oh it's all gone wrong, oh well, here's communism instead'

They are setting the country up so all the wealth, from defence spending to home ownership is in the hands of offshore companies.

All the money gets sucked out of the country and we're forever debt slaves.

Starmer is mad enough to do it.

Why is the Government considering farming out the Digital ID to a Private company?

Its government business, government is responsible for its security.

If they farm it out, and it's hacked, government will shrug it's shoulders, it's not our fault.

When it is, because they farmed it out to a company that will put profits first.

We send electrical scrap abroad so children in India can boil the circuit boards to recover metals at great detriment to their health.

We don't care what happens when it leaves our shores, we're not responsible for other countries.

But Net Zero, net zero says we have to decarbonize our economy because it's a global thing. Doesn't matter if our contribution is small in comparison.

Well why doesn't the same apply to dumping rubbish abroad?

Its still environmentally damaging, it's damaging children, why is that not considered on a global scale?

    They pick and choose.

As with Gaza, there is selective outrage.

We must have net zero for global good citizenship, but we'll dump all our toxic crap abroad in a non environmental manner so we don't have to deal with it.

    Its incredible.

  5. Wasn't sure if to put this in minor news, but to me, it's big news.

We got a government who's drops a spying case against China, claiming China is a challenge not an enemy.

But they officially state China has national security concerns, but it represents a growth opportunity, so we'll risk it anyway.

But you the people, we won't let you risk 2 glasses of sugary drinks.

One is a national security concern, the other is a lifestyle choice.

We have to be legislated against to much sugar, but the government dropped a spying case against a hostile foreign government that has security issues on the basis it may invest money.

So national security concerns go out the window in favour of investment but our personal choices have to be legislated?

Secondly, who the f*ck do they think they are?

I've often walked into a pub and downed my first pint because of thirst and ordered a second. I can't do that when I pay to go to a restaurant?

    What next?

Waiters taught to calories count and refuse to serve if it breaks a limit?

Menu choices limited to what the government say us good for us and which food groups we can have.

FFS. This government is going to destroy the UK and move us to hardline socialism or communism.

They will not listen to the public or their own petitions.

They engage in Tax fraud and freebies while preaching to us about ethics and decency.

Digital ID and laws like this are just the beginning of the nightmare they would force on us.

Nando's restricts customers to one Coke per visit under new 'nanny state' rules triggering customer backlash

Nando's has sparked a backlash after restricting customers to a single glass of Coca-Cola Classic under new government rules aimed at cutting sugar consumption.

The Peri-Peri chicken chain, known for its 'bottomless' drink option, previously allowed diners to refill s

But while zero-sugar options such as Sprite Zero and Fanta Zero remain unlimited, Coca-Cola Classic is now capped at one serving.

An updated sticker on Nando's drinks machines now reads: 'Want Coca-Cola Classic? It's one glass only.

'Based on new government laws, we've had to limit Coca-Cola Classic to one glass per customer. Still thirsty? Help yourself to one of our low-sugar fizzy bottomless soft drinks.'

The move immediately triggered complaints on social media. One X user wrote: 'Welcome to the nanny state.' Another said: 'This must be a joke.'

    Link - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-15165713/Nandos-restricting-customers-one-Coca-Cola.html

Its not a joke, it's totalitarian tip toe.

  6.

    I detested the woman.

But she did say some sensible things.

I watched her respond in Parliament, she said -  'if the honorable Gentleman wants open borders, he's calling for international chaos'

Looks like she wasn't wrong on that.

As I've pointed out in another topic here, I exercise caution towards anyone who advocates the UK leaving this convention.

    https://www.libertyhumanrights.org.uk/issue/what-is-the-echr-and-why-does-it-matter/

Certain people are claiming that 'leaving the ECHR will help us to stop illegal immigration'. Which is probably true, but if it is not replaced by some other mechanism, it opens up the possibility of UK citizens further having civil liberties and freedoms stripped away from them.

As the old saying goes, "be careful what you wish for", or more importantly, be careful of what you are being conned into giving your consent to!

It would be a shame to have to leave to secure our borders.

I'm not its true we do.

Labour have just written new Borders Bill.

It gives the Border Force powers to seize the boats and also to return the boats.

If they seize the boats, the immigrants can't be sent back. But until now, Border Force had no powers to keep the boats, now they can but they have to give them to charities or the money raised given to charity.

Border Force can stop the boats and turn them around, but before they do, someone has to phone France.

If France doesn't answer or if it's to dangerous to hold them out in the water while they make a telephone call, then Border Force have to bring them ashore.

So neither amendments have done anything to change the situation.

But Labour say we've given the power to seize the boats.

Great headline, but if they seize the boats, the immigrants can't be sent back.

    This is Labour all over.

I think Farage may be dangerous now, God knows what over the top schemes he's dreaming up.

Leaving EHCR in theory removes a level of protection we have, but seeing the mockery it causes of due process makes me sick. We cannot deport because the child doesn't like the Chicken Nuggets in his country of origin.

You can turn them back, but you must phone France first, if you don't get an answer, bring them in.

Don't worry you can keep the boats, but you have to give them to charity.

So you can't actually keep them. Because we don't want extra funds towards Border Force, it goes to charity instead.

    Its nonsense.

Why can't we just put Navy out on borders to turn them back.

But the boats are really only capable of 1 trip. So they would not make it.

Well sorry, but after 2 or 3 boats have sunk, taking all life on board, nobody would attempt it.

This is the problem with mainstream political parties, none of them offer any 'real solutions' or take ownership of problems and issues, it just becomes a "blame game" - they're more bothered about 'poll ratings' than they are about actually doing anything, and just resort to deflection by blaming others for their own misgivings.

    100%

They still ger paid if they're not in power.

They still get pension if they get sacked.

Look at Rayner- tax avoidance after bemoaning the ruch not paying tax. Now Starmer wants her back, she's paid a heavy price he says. But if she comes back, what price had she paid? She's had a few weeks holiday.

They judge themselves wholly different to how they judge us.

Why would they want to be in power.

They have to take responsibility then, so best stay in opposition, shout loudly and disagree for a living, look important, nice salary and pension to boot.

When we was in EU, they could look forward to 2 gold plated pensions.

That we pay for. That was my main driver to vote leave.

Why do I need to pay for 2 governments?

Is the UK government incapable of governing without being told what to do?

Then why am I paying them and financing gold plated pensions?

Why am I paying twice for elected officials who rarely do anything Norte worthy but expect huge financial reward.

Regarding leaving EU, i think Civil Service and Human Rights lawyers like Starmer prevented every favorable opportunity the UK could have under taken, I think Boris was blocked. Then we had Covid, that really stopped anything happening.

Why didn't we automatically come out of EHCR?

That crappy commitment has been the biggest stumbling block in this mess.

  9. Synagogue attacker's surgeon father said 'we will sip Arabic coffee and watch' the end of Israel

The father of the terrorist who attacked members of the Jewish community outside a Manchester synagogue on Thursday said he would 'sip Arabic coffee and watch' the end of Israel in a series of online posts that also praised Hamas.

Syrian-born Faraj Al-Shamie, father of 35-year-old Islamist attacker Jihad Al-Shamie, has posted regularly on social media since before the Syrian civil war, often referencing Israel.

    Link - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15161655/Synagogue-attackers-surgeon-father-sip-coffee-watch-end-Israel.html

He says he's sitting back, after being appalled at his son's actions.

    Hamas are releasing hostages.

    De-escalation?

If Hamas were retreating, why would this man's son continue with the attack?

If Hamas are retreating, why is this man 'sitting back to watch the end of Israel' ?

    They are not retreating.

    Something else is happening.

  10. From tinternet.

    Starmer has a problem.

And creating a Brit card excluding immigrants will end up in the echr.

Where it will cost millions trying to defend something that Blair tried and lost when that thing was pm.

Starmer is only doing Blair’s bidding.

He wants to mandate digital ID for every Briton. He dresses it up in two slogans: “preventing fraud” and “stopping illegal working.” Fabian Blair used the same lines in 2004 when he tried and failed to push ID cards.

But here’s the trap he’s in:

Britain is bound by the European Convention on Human Rights.

Article 8 protects our privacy, Article 14 bans discrimination.

Strasbourg has already ruled against blanket DNA and biometric databases in S & Marper v UK (2008) and against unregulated facial recognition in Bridges v South Wales Police (2020).

You can not strip people of their livelihoods or force them into surveillance on pain of starvation.

Any mandatory digital ID tied to work or survival would fail the ECHR tests of legality, necessity and proportionality.

And it gets worse for him. Under the UN’s Agenda 2030, SDG 16.9, states have pledged to provide “legal identity for all, including birth registration.” That language was written to protect migrants, stateless persons and refugees.

It means digital ID can not lawfully be used to exclude foreign workers from jobs or services. It has to empower them. So if Starmer sells this scheme as a way to block “illegal working,” he’s trampling over the very human rights treaties he boasts of upholding.

    So, what are his choices?

He could leave the ECHR. But that unlocks the opposite of his Fabian wet dream. Outside the Convention, Britain could indeed deport en masse, shut borders, and sweep away the legal brakes on state power.

(Labour will never do that because the Fabian project depends on international treaties and courts to entrench their system above democratic challenge.)

Or he could stay in the ECHR. But then his hands are tied. The judges in Strasbourg have already said you can’t keep every citizen’s DNA, can’t roll out facial recognition without safeguards, can’t discriminate against migrants. By that precedent, he can not compel digital ID without being dragged through the courts.

And then there’s Agenda 2030 itself. It locks in digital ID as a protection for migrants, not a punishment. So he can’t use it against them either.

So, Starmer’s “digital ID” agenda is a Fabian mess. It can’t lawfully be forced on migrants. It can’t lawfully be forced on citizens without leaving the ECHR. And leaving the ECHR would destroy his arguments against deportations.

He is boxed in. The only way he can get his way is if we let him bluff us into believing this is inevitable. It isn’t. He’s trapped.

  11. Met police arrest 175 pro-Palestinian protesters after organisers refused to cancel demonstration

At least 175 people have been arrested at a pro-Palestine protest in central London after organisers refused to cancel the demonstration following the synagogue terror attack earlier this week.

The Prime Minister had urged groups behind the demonstrations in Manchester and London along with attendees to 'respect the grief of British Jews' as he said the events could cause further pain to mourners.

    Link - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15161451/Pro-Palestine-protest-organisers-ignore-calls-reconsider-marches.html

100,000 people protesting immigration, 26 arrested.

Response: far right or thugs. Don't represent Britain we shall never surrender our flag.

1000 protesting, for a terrorist organisation, 175 arrests.

Response : Please don't cause further pain to the mourners.
