  1. MAIL ON SUNDAY COMMENT: Labour has no moral or political mandate for a tax raid on homes

When income tax was first introduced in this country in 1799 to pay for war against France, it applied to a tiny few and was regarded by many of them as an outrageous imposition and a gross invasion of privacy. It was twice abandoned before becoming permanent in 1842.

But when it began, it was a problem only for the better off. Only during the 20th century did it become a burden on millions who would never have dreamed of being taxpayers in earlier ages.

In 1920, it covered 16 percent of the workforce. By 1980, it affected 80 percent. At times in recent years it has been imposed on almost every working person.

As for the 40 per cent higher rate of income tax, supposedly directed at the better off, this began modestly by affecting about half a million taxpayers.

But it now embraces about 7.4 million thanks to ‘fiscal drag’ – the passive failure of the Treasury to adjust for inflation. So we should be wary of the apparent modesty of Labour plans for a ‘mansion tax’ on homes worth more than £2 million.

Advisers of Chancellor Rachel Reeves are said to be considering a scheme for the owners of such houses to face an annual ‘property charge’. The suggested rate is believed to be one percent of the amount by which the property’s value exceeds £2 million.

This would see the owners of a £3 million property face a yearly demand for £10,000. That may seem a long way away for many – but what is at stake here is a principle.

Instead of being taxed on what we earn by work or investment, we will be taxed also on what we have saved over time, often from taxed income. Like the deeply unpopular inheritance tax, it is a grab too far for most of us.

And inflation could rather quickly see such a tax invading modest suburbs, just as the higher rate of income tax now affects teachers, nurses, social workers and police sergeants. Levels of taxation in this country are already grotesque.

The Starmer Government knows this, which is why it promised last year not to raise several major taxes. But it is still looking for new ways to seize our money.

In the past, governments have solved such problems through the introduction of stealth and backdoor taxes. Or they have hidden behind fiscal drag, which required no positive action and can be achieved by simply failing to raise thresholds. This has gone far enough already. Spending must be controlled instead.

The plan for a tax raid on people’s homes is intolerable. It is confiscation of hard-earned, hard-saved wealth which simply cannot be justified.

The Starmer Government fears to rein in its extravagance and does not dare keep its own backbenchers under control. But that is not the fault of the property-owning middle class.

Sir Keir and Ms Reeves sought office and willingly took on responsibility for the nation’s accounts. Their authority has since visibly withered.

Their vote is collapsing and they cannot even fulfil basic duties such as keeping prisoners in jail. They have no mandate, moral or political, for such a scheme.

They have already borrowed far beyond their means. They must learn to govern responsibly, rather than funding their irresponsibility through raids on thrifty citizens.

Basically, if they make property ownership too expensive for the average worker, they can deny us ownership to us, and hand it over to private offshore for profit corporate landlords.

Socialists don't believe in Private ownership.

    Sorry Fluke just seen this.

    Yes, your correct.

Fascism can be simplified to 'Corporate Rule' that's what I'm suggesting.

Everything we own will be transferred to offshore corporate ownership and government will become a middle man between us and global corporate masters.

Global corporations will operate internationally and hence be beyond taxation and to an extent legally protected from National laws.

We on the other will be subjected to National and Global legal frameworks and taxation.

Its not untraceable, nor is a VPN completely untraceable, its just difficult technically and time consuming.

But the creator of Bitcoin was anonymous, it seemed rebellious at first, now it looks like conditioning for a global digital currency.

    What change?

If we piece together snippets -

Starmer says 'I've changed my party'

    First off, 'his' party?

What has he changed it to?

He says 'if you want to deport illegals, your an enemy'

He says, 'if you don't like the changes, you can leave'

    Really? Go where?

We, the citizens, have to leave if we don't like what 'the Party' is doing?

The MP's no longer have to represent us, Starmer changed that.

Now the deputy tells us they must go further, be bolder in the changes and she'll change our culture to do it.

If you don't like it leave.

Because they don't represent us, they represent the Party, big business, Globalists and the EU.

She says 'people say we are not being bold enough'

They are introducing an undemocratic Digital ID scheme that they want to broaden to childrens education.

They 'reset' Brexit without a mandate or vote.

They've interfered and ruined Private and Academy educational institutions.

They've labelled large numbers of the public as Far Right.

They've ignored multiple petitions sigbed by millions.

How much bolder can you get?

She says 'people of Britain voted for change and I will do everything I can to change the culture to deliver that'

She says 'I am here to serve the country, the party, and you'

We're last in the picking order.

    It just gets worse.

I need to know - what change did the people of Britain vote for, that allowed Starmer to deliver 'a landslide victory' for his changed party.

What did he change his party into and what change did we vote for?

  7. London grooming gang victims ‘killing themselves’ while Sadiq Khan 'turns a blind eye'

EXCLUSIVE: Author and campaigner Chris Wild has claimed the Mayor of London is ‘deluded'.

Victims of London grooming gangs are killing themselves while “delusional” Sadiq Khan denies the city has a problem, an author and campaigner for children in care has claimed.

Chris Wild, who has spent the past 15 years working in London’s care system, said he had first-hand experience dealing with over 40 cases of child sexual exploitation where the authorities took no action.

  8. Jess Phillips has betrayed grooming gang survivors with Labour's toxic whitewash

I have just one question for supporters of Jess Phillips.

I keep hearing how much Jess Phillips has done for women. OK, so answers on a postcard please – exactly what has she done? In Opposition she talked loud and hard about fighting for women’s rights. But talking about making life better for women isn’t actually doing it. But with this grooming gangs inquiry she finally had the chance to stop talking and DO something for abused and exploited women – to right the wrongs of decades of rape and torture by Pakistani grooming gangs and get justice for the survivors. And what does she do? She betrays them and calls them liars. And let’s not forget Phillips actually voted against having a national inquiry in the first place. She tried to stop the victims being heard.

Now five of those survivors have walked out of the inquiry claiming Phillips and others wanted to broaden its remit to include all forms of sexual exploitation thus playing down the fact it was Pakistani rape gangs who’d perpetrated the abuse. And they did that knowing the ethnicity of those rapists was a vital element in why the abuse was ignored by the establishment for decades.

The cops, social services, councillors and politicians – all terrified of being branded racist – turned a blind eye to the fact that the lives of white vulnerable white girls were being wrecked by Pakistani Muslim men who saw them as trash.

  10. Sadiq Khan breaks silence as Met Police issues grooming gangs update

The Metropolitan Police will reassess 9,000 grooming gang cases

Sadiq Khan has broken his silence on London's grooming gang scandal. The Metropolitan Police is reviewing 9,000 cases in a huge grooming gangs probe after the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan previously said there were none.

Khan's announcement comes following an Express/MyLondon investigation, which exposed several potential grooming gang cases in London that were overlooked.

A spokesperson for the Mayor of London said: "Any individuals or gangs exploiting children for sex are utterly abhorrent. Sadiq is quite clear that they must face the full force of the law. These children have not only suffered terrible abuse at the hands of the perpetrators but have been woefully let down by the authorities meant to protect them from harm."

Initially, Khan has claimed there were "no reports" or "indications" that London was blighted by the type of abuse that affected towns like Rochdale and Rotherham. But in a stunning release on Friday evening, the Met has now revealed it has 9,000 cases to reassess.

The statement continued: "Sadiq has consistently been clear to the Met that no stone must be left unturned in pursuing justice for the victims of grooming gangs and ensuring the vile perpetrators are brought to justice. Sadiq has led efforts to strengthen the protection of children from exploitation and harm in all its forms in London, including grooming gangs.

Government Responds To Weekend Of Violent Anti-Immigrant Protests

Sir Sadiq Khan and Sir Mark Rowley are under fire after an Express investigation

"In 2023, the Mayor personally requested that HMICFRS look into child protection at the Met, including the effectiveness of the Met police service response to child sexual exploitation. Action has been taken on all recommendations."

"The Mayor has invested more than £233m to tackle violence against women and girls in all its forms, an unprecedented amount. The Met have also adopted a new 'Child First' approach to safeguarding – including an enhanced approach to dealing with vulnerable missing children - to ensure Child Sexual Exploitation is treated with the seriousness it deserves.

The Mayor remains vigilant to emerging and changing threats around child exploitation and will continue to support and hold the Met to account to ensure it does everything possible to tackle child sexual exploitation in London."

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson added: "Any sexual offending against children is abhorrent but group-based offending, often characterised as 'grooming gangs', is particularly insidious and devastating in its profound impact on the children affected.

The Met takes all allegations or concerns about child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation incredibly seriously and always investigates, following the evidence without fear or favour.

In the last year we have solved three times more cases of child sexual exploitation – representing 134 more suspects charged.

As part of the national reinvestigation into group-based child sexual exploitation recommended by Baroness Casey, we are currently undertaking a review of approximately 9,000 cases covering a 15-year period. In line with the IICSA definition, these include many cases of such as intra-familial, peer-on-peer and in institutional settings, along with those which do not fit the common understanding of a 'grooming gang'.

Our commitment to safeguarding all victims of such terrible offences and bringing those responsible to justice is absolute."

  11. Keir Starmer has declared war on his own country – he's blowing Britain to pieces

Britain is under attack. From its own PM.

Labour’s assault on Britain began with Keir Starmer’s decision to surrender sovereign territory to a foreign power. We'll even pay them £35billion for the privilege, 10 times more than the PM claimed. He chose his target well: the Chagos Islands, a strategic British base in the Indian Ocean.

Our own PM now stands accused of selling us out to China, which is building its own base right next door.

This is the act of a man who places the interests of hostile foreign powers ahead of our own. And he’s continued in the same vein. He's also turned on the British Army, potentially leaving veterans who served in Northern Ireland during the Troubles open to prosecution.

The first duty of any government is to defend its borders. Labour has failed spectacularly.

Every day the small boats keep coming, and Starmer’s attempts to stop them are so feeble that if he were a coastal commander, he’d be court-martialled for dereliction of duty.

It doesn’t help that Britain has a fifth column of immigration lawyers and judges, eager to smooth their passage. Even if it means declaring a balding migrant a child. Like the government, our legal system now seems to operate against the very people it’s meant to serve.

Our American allies aren’t the most reliable, especially under Donald Trump, but at least they're alert to the threat from China. Starmer isn't.

Labour waved through a vast Chinese spy centre in central London, while energy secretary Ed Miliband signs off Beijing’s technology in our power networks. That’s aiding and abetting an enemy power in all but name.

Talking of Ed Miliband.... what’s the first thing a hostile regime would target to cripple Britain? Our energy infrastructure.

When the Luftwaffe tried, they sent bomber fleets. Miliband does it with green levies, carbon tariffs and ever-rising power bills. In a combined attack, he’s also torpedoed our vital oil and gas industry.

Slowly we see the real purpose of net zero: zero growth, zero resilience and plenty of zeros on the end of our energy bills.

In fact, net zero is starting to sound like a secret enemy code.

The signs are there when Miliband makes his speeches, flailing his arms like a crazed foreign demagogue. Yet Starmer keeps him in post, to continue his sabotage in plain sight.

The PM has placed his most ruthless saboteur right next door in No 11 Downing Street. Express readers often ask me whose side Rachel Reeves is on. It certainly isn’t ours.

The Chancellor has hammered businesses, gutted manufacturing and left our shipyards and heavy industry in ruins.

She insists she’s “fixing the foundations”, but that’s just cover for her real mission. She’s now left Britain perched on a debt time bomb, primed to explode at the moment chosen by the bond market.

Day after day, the evidence mounts. The enemy isn’t at the gate – it’s all over No 10.

I began this as an ironic joke. Having finished, I’m not so sure. Starmer’s Labour is waging total warfare on the UK, and it’s rolling towards victory.

    I've said it before, he's a Fabian.

They are hard core socialists whose strategy is to destroy the system, bit by bit, from the inside.

Small strategic changes that actually damages the system till eventually it breaks and they will step in with socialism as the savior.

China has got an oppressive Digital ID system, Communists want total control, as do socialists.

Starmer is putting that in place, no debate, no vote, he's forcing it through.

He's turning a blind eye to China, amid hostile foreign power.

He's doing everything he can to keep ALL illegal immigrants to change the social fabric of UK.

He's 'resetting' Brexit, they are blaming every failing and problem on Brexit -  WE broke our country because WE didn't listen to our leaders. So THEY are going to correct it, no vote, no debate.

If you look at what's going on globally it seems the world is heading for a climactic event

World government is almost established with the various International legal bodies, corporations are able to operate internationally, outside of a country's borders, giving them immunity to legal action and paying taxes.

Offshore companies take from Nation countries and pay little back in.

Starmer will oversee the wealth handover of our housing, businesses and governing system to Globalists, our economy will be sacked dry, everything we do will be tracked and our elite will be the politicians in national, continental and global governments working hand in hand with multinational corporations.

Its global corporate facism with either communist or socialist feudal system.

    Hell on earth.

Is there any historical cross-referenced evidence that proves traditional bible and gospel's authorship?

    No.

    Quite the opposite.

Its accepted that some of Paul's letters were not written by him.

As Campion mentioned it, Revelations is attributed to John of Patmos, if you read his story, you realize its nonsense.

Cross referencing the Gospels themselves and you find differences to the 'eye witness' testimonies. They can't be relied on as credible eye witnesses.

Its unlikely any of the Gospel authors were literate, they were fishermen for instance, and John the Baptist was a 'wild man of the woods' there's no way he could have been responsible for his mystical and prosaic Gospel.

The last paragraph of Matthew is widely accepted as being a later addition.

Its largely agreed among scholars the oldest gospel, John, was written at least 70 years after the life of Jesus.

Paul was writing shortly after Jesus's time, but Paul didn't actually meet Jesus. (If I remember correctly)

He doesn't even mention his name, its always "the Christ' or 'my Christ /my Lord' etc.

So it seems none of the Gospels were written by the disciples themselves or in the time when Christ was active.

  14. EU lawmakers urge halt to UNRWA funding over terror links

Lawmakers from 16 EU countries urged the bloc to stop funding UNRWA, citing ties to Hamas and a failure to uphold peace values.

European Parliament members from 16 of its 27 member states have called on the EU to cease funding UNRWA over its ties to terrorist groups and lack of commitment to peace.

The EU gives about €80 million-€90 million in funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East each year.

The MPs from Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Cyprus, Romania, Denmark, Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Finland, and Portugal wrote to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Monday, expressing their concerns about UNRWA.

Amid the somewhat rocky ceasefire and future of the Gaza Strip, the MPs said it was essential for support to be channeled through partners that share values of peace and reject “the forces of hate.”

UNRWA does not share those values and instead has “shown serious breaches of trust, including staff members connected to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad,” the MPs wrote.

These revelations have already led the US and Sweden to halt cooperation with UNRWA, and the MPs urged the EU to follow suit.

The rebuilding of Gaza should not repeat the failures of the past,” they wrote. “It must be carried out by credible organizations that invest in education, health, and opportunity for all – partners that build for peace, not for hate.”

EU funds must only go to organizations that uphold principles of peace, accountability, and human dignity, the letter said.

Swedish MP Alice Teodorescu posted the letter on her X/Twitter account and wrote: “We must take care of taxpayers’ money. UNRWA has no role to play in a future peace between Palestinians and Israelis.”

In a post on X, Danish MP Henrik Dahl said no money should be given to “organizations that promote terror, Islamism, or antisemitism.”

He lamented that the EU continues to send millions of euros to UNRWA and said he, together with center-right forces in the European Parliament, is proposing an amendment to the EU’s budget for 2026.

Specifically, all funds to organizations that promote terror, Islamism, or antisemitism must be immediately suspended, Dahl said.

According to the UN’s own investigation, nine UNRWA employees participated in Hamas’s attack on October 7,” he wrote.

UNRWA’s headquarters in Gaza were located on a Hamas base with server rooms and a 700-meter-long tunnel, and the terrorist organization used UNRWA schools and warehouses as hiding places for weapons and even Israeli hostages, Dahl said.

“After everything that has now come to light, no one can any longer claim that UNRWA is a ‘neutral humanitarian actor,’” he wrote.

UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer praised the coalition of EU lawmakers.

“Bravo to European lawmakers from 16 countries for calling on the EU to support peace and reject hate by ending funding for terror-infested UNRWA,” he said.

If we now go to our representative MP and give our grievances they no longer have to fo anything with it, it is the Party view that takes precedence and if you don't agree you are an enemy of National Renewal, enemy of progress and thus an enemy of the party.

That makes you an enemy of the state if that party is the party in power.

Digital ID came out of nowhere and suddenly its Global, with private data in controlled by private offshore companies.

Our housing stock is being sold en mass to private offshore companies.

Tax payer money funneled offshore to house council and private tenants.

Our energy comes from foreign offshore companies.

Our food comes from foreign companies.

Our transport system is being staffed by immigrants.

Our two tier legal system is officially an apartheid tool.

Our Police and Government engage in Social Engineering by paying activists to attend protests or create protests that support the party view.

Arrests are misreported to support the government view. There were 26 arrests, they are thugs, but the reality is most of those arrested were the government paid activists.

But it doesn't matter, the Police report 26 arrests, the media report it, the government claim its proof the protesters are thugs.

Our education system has been dumbed down and largely ruined so all that is left are struggling or failing schools that teach the government curriculum.

Our High St shops are 'offshoring' to compete and make profit.

Virtually all our services are outsourced, council workers, road workers, the government and council IT systems are outsourced and I know at one point it was to Capita a French company.

Parts of our military are outsourced to offshore hedge funds.

All it needs is a global financial crash or civil disorder for government to seize emergency powers, the corporations already have control of all industries, when they have control of our lives through Digital ID and Digital Currency, we're fucked.

    Exactly.

Its obviously largely unaccountable, its 'private' but only has government pledged funds.

Why do we, the UK, not just put 20 Billion pounds aside into an account we own fir contingency.

Why do we give it to them?

It must be like insurance, if lots of people pay in, then if a small number make a claim, there's enough funds to pay out.

So it becomes a sort of insurance scam, but when you make a claim, they dictate how you spend it, they demand certain policy reforms.

But they are unelected, they are not politicians.

They lend to dictatorship to keep them in power.

If they are economic experts why aren't they advising governments long before they get into economic problems.

    Who gave them this power?
