Having discs, a printed manual and a box/packaging gave us the sense that we OWN THAT PARTICULAR COPY OF THE SOFTWARE OR GAME. (Even if the END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT CLAIMED THAT WE ONLY OWN A LIMITED-LICENSE TO USE THE SOFTWARE OR GAME...) - GEN-Z increasingly only has ACCESS TO CLOUD/SOFTWARE-AS-A-SERVICE software and games. - This means HAVING TO SET UP A CLOUD ACCOUNT, HAVING TO I.D. YOURSELF TO THE SOFTWARE/GAME VENDOR (CREDIT CARD), NEVER GETTING PHYSICAL DISCS and HAVING TO MANDATORILY CONNECT TO THE INTERNT SO THE FUCKING SOFTWARE/GAME CAN EVEN RUN. - GENERATION Z effectively CANNOT OWN SOFTWARE/GAMES ANYMORE - THERE ARE NO DISCS, THERE IS NO SELLING 2ND HAND TO A FRIEND, THERE IS NO "I'M TIRED OF THIS GAME. I'LL GIVE IT TO A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER TO PLAY". ITS A RENTAL SYSTEM WITH MANDATORY INTERNET CHECKS. - SO GENERATION Z CANNOT OWN ANYTHING DIGITAL ANYMORE - IT IS IN THE CLOUD AND CAN ONLY BE RENTED BY CREDIT CARD.

  8. I personally believe that God himself arranged for youths to be "somewhat rebelious against society", because he knew that human societies can become oppressive and stagnant. The kids of each generation fighting established cultural norms and values was probably supposed to bring fresh air into any discussion of how society should function. Almost all of the great thinkers, writers, scientists, inventors and politicians in history were MAJOR REBELS against the status quo of their time. For example, NIKOLA TESLA was a decidedly ODD FIGURE in 1890s NEW YORK. He didn't live or think or behave ANYTHING like his fellow New Yorkers of the time. And he gave us OVER 700 PATENTS THAT BROUGHT ABOUT THE "ELECTRIC AGE". Millenials TOWING THE LINE on everything is DANGEROUS. As are the AGENDAS THEY ARE BEING FORCED TO FURTHER - LGBTQ/GENDER CRAPPERY comes to mind. It is ALSO DANGEROUS THAT THE ESTABLISHMENT TRIED TO CUT MILLENIALS OFF FROM GOOD ART - MUSIC, MOVIES, LITERATURE HAVE ALL GONE IN THE TOILET RIGHT AROUND THE TIME THE MILLENIALS WERE BORN. It is BLATANTLY OBVIOUS THAT TO THE PTB, THE MILLENIANS ARE "A GENERATION TO BE RUINED". AND THEY ARE DOING A GOOD JOB OF IT! I also believe that THE MILLENIALS ARE BEING RUINED BECAUSE THEY ARE - IN THE RELIGIOUS SENSE - A "CHOSEN GENERATION" THAT CAME ALONG EXACTLY 2000 YEARS AFTER CHRIST. The ESTABLISHMENT'S BLATANTLY INVERSE-CULTURAL, INVERSE-HUMANIST AND INVERSE-RELIGIOUS ANTI-RELIGION PROBABLY MANDATES THAT THE MILLENIALS BE COMPLETELY WRECKED AS A GENERATION.

  11. A little bit of "history of game development" may be in order. The people who made games on 8Bit and 16Bit "home computers" 25 years ago were a very different bunch from today. Most were highly educated - Mathematics, Computing Science, Science degrees, Engineering degrees, true Geeks - and were out to MAKE INTELLIGENT GAMES. They had to make games work on home computers with only 1 to 8 Mhz of CPU power, no 3D chip, and only 64Kb to 512Kb of RAM. Not even 1MB. So they put tremendous ingenuity into writing clever code and designing new, intelligent game mechanics. They didn't have today's WOW 3D GRAPHICS CAPABILITIES at their disposal so THEY INVENTED ONE CLEVER GAMEPLAY CONCEPT AFTER ANOTHER. They TOOK CREATIVE AND INTELLECTUAL RISKS WITH THEIR GAMES - EVERY YEAR THERE WOULD BE AT LEAST 4 OR 5 GAMES THAT TRY SOMETHING COMPLETELY NEW. The games back then ALSO WERE NOT GENRE-GAMES LIKE TODAY - i.e. FIRST-PERSON SHOOTER, RPG, RTS GAME AND SO FORTH. What happened then is tragic - around the year 2000, BIG GAME PUBLISHERS LIKE ELECTRONIC ARTS BOUGHT UP ALL THE SMALL GAME DEVELOPERS AND DESTROYED THEM. The CREATIVE DESIGN OF GAMES PASSED FROM "TRUE GEEKS WHO LOVE MAKING GOOD GAMES" TO "WALLSTREET COWBOYS WITH MBAs WHO LOVE MAKING PROFIT". OUT WENT THE GAME DESIGN GENIUSES OF THE 1980s AND 1990s WHO TOOK CREATIVE RISKS AND DID SOMETHING NEW EACH YEAR. IN CAME THE BUSINESS SUITS, WHO CAME UP WITH SHIT LIKE "CASUAL GAMES" AND "AAA GAMES" THAT COST 50 MILLION DOLLARS TO MAKE. AND THIS CREATED GAMES THAT ARE DESIGNED TO ENGAGE AND ADDICT POINTLESSLY, RATHER THAN INTELECTUALLY CHALLENGE THE GAMER. ALL BECAUSE WALL STREET MONEY AND GULF OIL MONEY WAS NOW FINANCING THE GAMES. MANY OF THE MOST BRILLIANT NAMES IN GAME DESIGN - ROBERTS, MOLYNEUX, BRABEN - WERE ESSENTIALLY THROWN OUT OF THE INDUSTRY THEY CREATED. SO INTELLIGENT AND INTELLECTUALY GAMES WENT INTO THE TOILET - BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THE PTB WANTED. I ALSO SUSPECT THAT SMART GAMES WERE MAKING YOUTH TOO SMART - TPB DECIDED TO DUMB DOWN THE GAMES.

A good technologist will try to EMPOWER YOUR LIFE, MAKE YOU MORE FREE, GIVE YOU GREAT, USEABLE TECH. Today's Corporate Engineers HAVE TO BUILD WHAT MANAGEMENT TELLS THEM TO BUILD. Most of it is BAD. Some of it is REALLY BAD.

Compared to the 1980s/1990s kids: - Kids today are under 24/7 digital surveillance and data gathering - The Data Gatherers SIT THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY IN SILICON VALLEY AND ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO HOLD TO ACCOUNT - Kids are so phone/screen/technology addicted that 50% or so will be OBESE and unhealthy adults - The Schoolyard Bully is EVERPRESENT now, thanks to the myriad Trolls and other Assholes who are Online daily - There is growing evidence that PORN CONSUMPTION among youth is affecting their sexual/romantic behavior in VERY bad ways - GROWN ADULTS are TRYING TO FORCE LGBTQ/GENDER CONFUSION CRAP ON TODAY'S KIDS - Everything digital that kids buy - especially Computer Games - is locked down with DRM/mandatory cloud accounts - They can't really trade computer game discs, music, films in the schoolyard like we used to - Quality print magazines have largely given way to trashy Internet Blogs and such - Popular Culture today is SHIT - DEVOID OF ARTISTIC TALENT, full of WEIRD AGENDAS AND MANIPULATION - Music, Film and other arts have GONE TO SHIT as well. We had Fellini and Hitchcock. They have Michael Bay and Marvel Movies. - By the time many of these kids get a career, AI WILL HAVE NUKED MANY ENTRY-LEVEL JOBS
