    A HUMOUR THREAD

You are clearly as old as me, snowy come back
  2. Well you clearly find him credible, if I can find a free copy IL have a look see, at this stage I'm tending towards him being one of the increasing number of folk who have realised they can make a few quid by writing sci-fi or his-fi and passing it of as fact
  3. I'm not ruling out anything out, maybe the sun is conscious, and a bit lonely, maybe the whole universe is a giant quantum computer sat on someone's desk in a higher dimention, just he need to try a bit harder before pointing at dust clouds and denoting intelligence, it's all a bit star trek
  4. He seems big on suggesting but light on rational explanations, I'm not sure you can have dust cloud made out of plasma or plasma made out of dust cloud, they are different states of matter, he can't just point at the sky and say that's a brain and that over there is a brain and look over there, that's another brain, not really, you need to back it up with more than conjecture The unexplainable miracle is usually the put down to the big bang, which is fairly well explained apart from why and what was there before. The mechanism is fairly well understood as soon as you get past the first couple of trillonths of a second There is an increasing amount of research that our brains and therefore our consciousness is quantum in nature, our brain are likely to be quantum computers
  5. He has managed to work a could and a may in to his explanation, There is a scientific thought experiment known as the Boltzmann brain where by random fluctuations of particles that evolve over time cause a fully functional brain to come into existence. It's not supposed to be taken seriously, I suspect he has cribbed and slightly modified the idea Here have a read and tell me how close you think it is to temples idea https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boltzmann_brain
  6. Does he say why he thinks they could be super brains rather than just dust clouds. It makes sense why there would be dust clouds at the Lagrangian points,
  7. That just sounds like word salad and I've sat through lectures on quantum mechanics that make more sense, I suspect he is just making stuff up, that isn't to say he isn't correct, just he has no idea how it is supposed to work if he is correct
  8. Are you saying the Kordylewski cloud is cloud storage for the earth ? I'm not sure they had actual clouds in mind when they coined the term, how does the WiFi work ?
  9. It's less the size of the computer so much as the size of the hard drive that's the issue. It's only pushing science a wee bit to say the universe is a computer, it's corresponds very well to information theory, don't think of it as elementary particles, just bytes of information and it makes more sense. So how big are nature's computers ?, universe sized.! But you confuse me ! I thought simulation was simulation by more advanced beings not nature making computers ?
  10. There is absolutely no reason to suspect that the universe is a computer simulation other than IF it was indeed possible to do so( which it probably isn't), there is a greater chance that we live in a simulation than the real universe. Here is a question for you, how big a computer would you need to contain all the information in the visible universe ? The answer strangely enough is exactly the same size as the visible universe. That's hard to fit in a laptop
  11. Plato was relating events that allegedly happened some 7000 years before he was born of which there are no written records that we know of, there are undoubtedly oral traditions of great floods passed through the generations but how did Plato know these relate to Atlantis ?, what it was called ? and how did he know when it happened ?, but complete failed to mention where it was located ? , which seems an important detail
  12. It seems to work for me, as long as I set quite a low bar, sat there looking at a gap on my media wall, thinking what that needs is a top of the range Lenovo all in one touch screen computer , bet I can get one for under a 100 quid if I concentrate. A week later I see one " broken" for sale on face book for 20 quid, hot footed it round and bought it, shoved another hard drive in and up she went.
  13. If you look, you will see the desert " scar "extends across North America as well, at very much the same latitude, circa 30 ' north of the equator and far less obvious one at 30' South of the equator, less obvious till you get to Australia that is
  14. Sorry to dig up a long dead thread But my two penath, it's seems unlikely the burnt body found outside the Berlin bunker, was Hitler, the Russians were convinced it wasn't, the British and Americans, were very quick to accept it was,. Stalin thought the British had him and that's far from unlikely, on the other hand if he did kill himself it was far from difficult to hide a body in 1945 Berlin rather than let the Russians have it. The deaths of both Goring and Himmler are very very questionable, its not impossible the British had the full set tucked away somewhere As to escape, yes thats very plausible, the Germans had been moving their ( mostly stolen )wealth to South America for two years, at that stage they more or less owned Argentina he would have been very welcome if he could get there. Which would have been no more difficulty than getting to the Vatican or catching a U Boat , . Not easy, but a considerable number of his underlings made it
  15. Doggerland and all the subsequent under sea areas, disappeared at a few inches a year of sea level rise, it was indeed a flood, but a very very slow one. It seems unlikely anyone drowned they would just move to high ground. Which become increasingly smaller islands over a few hundred years. In the end they probably died of lack of fresh water or food. If it's the root of flood myths, they exaggerate slightly
