  1. From me Mum's garden earlier by Newton le Willows.
  2. They were taken by Aintree racecourse on Saturday. The sky was blue in the morning and you can actually see the grid formation if you look closely.
  3. Good post. English , Lancastrian with Irish ancestry and a non practicing Catholic here .
  4. I'll reply properly tomorrow to that . For the record I think / feel that Scouse not English thing is a tad cringeworthy and there is no intelligence behind it and I like to think it's just a wind up being honest but you never know with some folk these days. It's also nice and refreshing to have a conversation with someone in this thread about it all and not the ' lazy thinking and repeat bollocks ' like one or two . Take it easy.
  5. Which isn't what you said before mate . I ain't having a go here I just like a bit of clarity . Liverpool as a city will always have a natural distrust of the ... can't think of the words I'm looking for being honest but I'll go for a natural distrust of the establishment . When it started I do not know but if you know about the Irish Immigrant history of the city and Churchill giving the order to send the HMS Antrim to the Mersey in 1911 to turn her cannons on Liverpool during the a national strike you may and others may start to get a jist of things. There's other stuff to like ' a slow managed decline in the 80's and of course the ' establishment closing ranks ' on Hillsborough and all of the above are provable facts ! Listen . I was born here ( not my choice as I was in the spirit realm when my parents got it on ) so therefore will always stand up for my city if I feel that an injustice has been done. I will stand up for any injustice of any kind by the way . I can't stand lazy thinkers who just repeat what others repeat and especially on a forum such as this . They are a big part of the problem I'd say and there has been a few posts in this thread which I cannot simply be arsed to reply as there is nothing worse than a closed mind thinking that it is open an ' all that ! Nice one.
  6. Do you know the actual history of Liverpool Football Club and the connection to the Orange Lodge ?
  7. Good link. I've heard people mention this asthma inhaler thing but I really didn't pay any attention to it. A ' source close to the club ' says ... It reminds me of that Calvin Mckenzie who was editor of a certain news paper in 1989 published that disgusting headline ' The Truth ' . He was challenged on this in a debate on TV and said something like ' a friend of mine who's a police man in St Helens ( outskirts of Liverpool ) told me so !
  8. Good post and I know what you mean about clubs indentities mate. My parents met in 1967 going to the aways and me and our kid were a product of that marriage so unfortunately Liverpool have got me for life . However , I don't go anymore and like others we all know there are more important things in life .
  9. Do I remember it ? I was actually there lad. Heysel was the straw that broke the donkey's back . If you remember English clubs reputation in Europe in the 70's name one incident that involved Liverpool ? A few spring to mind that involved Leeds in Paris , Man United in St Etienne , Villa at Anderlecht and Spurs at Feyenoord . There are others too. Liverpool's lads were more into grafting sports gear being honest and flogging it on their return home . That's how the ' casual scene ' ( a saying coined by the London press and not us ) started in about 79/80 which dozy followers of fashion got onto completely missing the point. Liverpool's lads were also into grafting from ' tom shops ' which were jewellers and made a few quid from it. Switzerland was known as ' the big Scouse warehouse ' back then which I find funny. Hooligans , no ! Grafters , yes! Liverpool have never had ' firm ' and definetly not a ' firm name ' like United - The ICJ , West Ham - The ICF or Millwall the hilariously named Bushwhackers. Now onto Heysel. It was like any other European Cup Final we'd been to which was a great piss up and a sing song and mixing in with the teams other supporters swapping scarves etc. However as the day went on the mood was changing as ' tom shop ' went west and the plod turned up , also that Belgian beer is strong. Getting closer to the stadium everything was still sound but you could feel something on the under current. The stadium itself was not fit for a final at all. Holes in the walls outside and the steps inside were crumbling. As we gets in part of our end which a neautral zone full of Juventus supporters . Still everything seemed ok until a few missiles started being exchanged between both sets of supporters ( who threw the first I do not now ) and a group of Liverpool lads decided enough was enough and pulled down the fence which was chicken wire and legged the Juventus fans resulting in 39 people dying . The authorities should have been held accountable for holding such a big game at such a shithole of a ground which was an Olympic Stadium in the 1930's I think. Peter Robinson our Club's Secretary was at Heysel a few weeks before and asked for the final to be held at a different venue and he was ignored. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/former-liverpool-fc-chief-executive-3424056 Twenty Six Liverpool fans were sentenced for involuntary manslaughter by the way. Do you think they went out to purposely kill 39 people or just wanted to take the end which football fans had been doing for at least 25 years prior to Heysel.
  10. They are though . When most players hit their 30's they have usually peaked . The team needed a rebuild anyway as Liverpool as team peaked in the 2020/21 season when the league would've been won in March as week after lockdown. I am not condoning what he said about vaccines at all . Infact it done my head in. Klopp has given me my best days as a Liverpool fan and I was born when Shankly was manager and have seen arguably the best sides that have played in this country. He also helped me get through the darkest period of my life ( I lost my brother in 2017 who was never the same after Hillsborough ) and got me into going again altough it was only the European aways from 2017 to February 2020. He's a great manager and a sound fella in my eyes but like I said his views on vaccines were a bit weird. Out of interest who do you support .
  11. Hiya lad. The age of the midfield 2021/22. Jimmy Milner - 34 Henderson - 30 Fabinho - 28 Wijnaldum - 30
