Hi. Your request is logical. It is pleasant to be able to read an encapsulation- like an appetizer free sample. Finicky folks we can be, always, “watching what we eat.”
I landed on this video the other day/week/something, during dusk hours. Fell asleep to it halfway through. Upon seeing this thread I started to wonder to myself, what indeed is the secret? Whilst sipping my breakfast tea, I skipped through bits of it. Much work for me after quick tea time today.
In a morsel, I think the “secret” is that we are all one. Perhaps that includes that all spiritual paths lead to but the same place. Also, the author of the documentary is stating that karma is real and explained reincarnation a bit.
I hope that helps!
I have been taught an explanation of this “oneness” in a way that makes sense to me:
Everything I do to you, will inevitably become done to me. Therefore, how I treat you is how I treat myself. Same goes for you, and everyone else. Because of this, you are me, and I am you, we are all one in the same.
Another way I have heard this oneness described:
Watch the ocean as it moves. Forces of energy moves the water around. You see waves. Water gets pushed inward too. By the shoreline, you see the receding water. We are all that water together. No one is actually greater nor lesser than another.
Another indication of oneness in the video: the idea that all spiritual paths lead to but one place. “One source is behind it all,” kind of message, to paraphrase. It gets explained with pictures. This concept can be found in Krishna’s teachings too. To summarize in an understandable way:
The Krishna quote I saw in a book many moons back, dusting off cobwebs to paraphrase. Basically, he tells humanity that he forgives anyone who is not a follower of him by name, so long as they follow their own spiritual path with whole-souled integrity. He explained that by being true to your path, you are in fact following him without even realizing it. So he magnanimously forgives such ones, and eventually integrity will lead you to his happy, happy embrace.
Another way to explain this Krishna teaching: there’s a book and movie, The Life of Pi. *spoiler alert* At the end of the movie a key question is asked, “Which story do you prefer?”. (A story of a family bickering, or a wild tail about being stranded on a boat with a tiger). The person asked answered, that the preferred the wild tail. “And so it goes with God.” Meaning, whatever spiritual path you choose is fine with God. In other words, God doesn’t discriminate against religious like people do…
Cheers, fine chaps!
