I don't understand cars. How a few lessons and a couple of tests give you the privilege to be in control of a two ton potential killer. And the laws concerning death by driving are rubbish. Cars Cars, football, wetterspoons, tesco, holidays, even seeing bands is an alien(aiting) over the last few years. Seems like a whole load of people are involved in this altered autotuned life, and I'm like observing from over there And definitely those electric cars can eff off. Stop Look And Listen doesn't apply

Thanks for that DannyUK. Absolutely understood but arguing with the monkeys(used to be one)well, it's like arguing with my kitchen mop. They'll remain argumentative as they reckon they have the high ground though no way do they. But they are kinda dumb too so they'll stick with being dumb. Not their fault they need to eat too, sigh just saying automatons in a confrontational situation guess what will happen (no witnesses etc)

Good arguments. Negativity from all sides is a bugger to, well not to confront as such as I'm sure we have our own ways, though when it is relentless as some may be aware of and all around just smacks others down it's a fucking hard thing to even attempt to conquer especially after numerous times of being beaten down Good big debate though Society though. I know what you mean. It has nothing to do with the booze or any other substances either. I've no idea if you had people around you during that week or if you work and had that week off but from my point of view it seems that there's gonna be a big party for everyone else and some of us will be excluded. Emphasised by the build up of ads about get togethers with important family and friends. I know, selling the impossible dream. Maybe some of us unconsciously chooses to amnesia ourselves during the merry time even without the help of booze. On a positive though, that kemps thing was a good laugh (grrr bbc etc)

Yeah and pre-payment, according to Scottish Power, doesn't cover all costs. I recently moved home (again, private landlord bastards), and was confronted with an almost £50 charge for gas, even though I was on pre-payment. When I enquired how and why, I was told that pre-payment doesn't actually mean that as any extra charges will be added on when either moving house or changing supplier. Extra charges meaning if I used emergency credit, which sometimes was unavoidable but it was automatically paid back when I topped up the meter, and somehow, VAT. I refused to pay this extra amount so obviously they stated with the threat of debt collectors calling. No wonder everything is in an anonymous call centre somewhere

Yup it's not a good place. The local council is heavily influenced by a certain bunch of the local population. Never want to go back there

RiP to this man. One of his 70s documentaries was in Gateshead and was on about how a black family was coping. Brilliant bit of reporting. If his website is still there the video should be part of the collection. Also, excellent footage of a dying scruffy Tyneside

Howdo everyone. Merry year thing to you all I was on the old forum years ago when desktop pc's were the thing but heck I cannot remember my username. The reason I'm rejoining at this time is I'm bloody so fed up. It's so flipping obvious this 'managed decline' is in full effect, especially on this very very rainy island. I might do a thread when I'm more up to it/replied to threads etc. I have a pain disability which has completely changed my life (much more than that covid lark could ever do) and typing these days is a massive challenge, but I gotta type or else. Just one thing I wanna say here though before I forget and that is my son(24) and all his friends etc reckon the woke thing is bullshit. Now, if that generation can see through it who actually is embracing this propaganda? I'll shut up for now. Cheers all
