I would have said more. I lived in San Francisco in the 80s when AIDS was making news. The Mayor, Dianne Feinstein , closed down the bath houses to slow the spread. I'm going by what her daughter told us. She said they took an x-ray and it showed glass or ice-like structures in the lungs. I used the word 'crystalline' to describe what she said so I may be confused or off the mark at least. I did a bit of preliminary research and found something called pulmonary crystal-storing histiocytosis. I'd never heard of it before but it is reported in the medical journals. Apparently, it's as rare as hen's teeth but in this loony world we live in, I rule nothing out.
