Elon Musk: No change to Twitter moderation policy yet

Billionaire Elon Musk has said there will be no changes to Twitter's content moderation policies for now after completing his $44bn (£38.1bn) takeover of the platform.

"To be super clear, we have not yet made any changes to Twitter's content moderation policies," he tweeted.

Earlier he announced the creation of a new council to moderate posts.

He also tweeted that "anyone suspended for minor & dubious reasons" would be "freed from Twitter jail".

"Comedy is now legal on Twitter," he said.

    From: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-63428848

The only way to challenge Twitter is to refuse to participate, no matter how tempting it might be to 'come back'.

In the US, Stop the Deal, a coalition of left-wing activist groups including Fair Vote UK and Media Matters for America, said Mr Musk had a "thirst for chaos" and his potential plans would make Twitter "an even more hate-filled cesspool, leading to irreparable real-world harm".

So basically this left-wing activist group is already admitting that Twitter is a "Hate-filled cesspool"?

I wholeheartedly agree, which is why I stay clear and have no intention of joining.

West Midlands homeowners offered cash to take in illegal migrants as hotel space runs out

Thousands of migrants have crossed the Channel this year.

Illegal migrants will be placed in homes in West Midlands because there is nowhere else to put them, it has emerged. Homeowners are being offered cash in return for putting a roof over the heads of migrants who have entered Britain after crossing the Channel.

Officials have drawn up the plan because hotel space is running out, as the system becomes overwhelmed with the number of people arriving in the country. Private contractor Serco is offering deals for up to five years, including rent for each month and maintenance costs.

It will also pay tenants’ council tax, plus gas and electricity bills. More than 38,000 migrants have arrived in the UK in 2022 as the Government has struggled to get a grip of the issue.

Serco is housing at least 30,000 asylum-seekers in 6,000 homes. The contractor has now issued a fresh call, saying it will consider all types of properties in the Midlands, North West and East of England.

Landlords of empty properties are among those being sought, plus owners of second homes, care homes and former student digs. Serco also said it would be speaking to local councils.

    From: https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/west-midlands-homeowners-offered-cash-25365153

I guess this means that the whole Homes For Ukraine thing from earlier this year was just a 'pilot', or the first phase of what was to be rolled out next.

"Nowhere to put them" - how about on a plane or boat back to where they came from?

Serco seem to be doing quite well out of this, and note that this is not some 'short-term' scheme, they are offering deals for up to FIVE YEARS.

I guess that all the foreign investors and hedge-funds that have been snapping up properties across the UK are primed and ready to take full advantage of this.

It's a bit like letting someone who has just burgled your house have a room for the night.

The country is being invaded, and yet the government are doing nothing to discourage or dissuade people from making the attempt at gaining illegal entry.

In fact, these illegals are now being 'rewarded' for their endeavours. And this kind of scheme will just encourage more of them.

And in the meantime, how many hard-up families will be tempted to take up the offer of having their council tax and energy bills paid for them, just for letting a couple of illegal immigrants live with them?

I dread to think where this is ultimately leading, but I think we have an idea already...

They seemed determined to keep out the party membership and keep the election to the parliamentary party who would deliver their preferred candidate.

That's exactly it. There was the 'pretence' of an election, whereby the 'elite' Tory MPs in the Commons presented a 'choice' of candidates to the wider party membership.

The 'elite' party MPs probably expected the wider grassroots party members to vote for Sunak over Truss.

But the members made the 'wrong choice'.

However, what still does bother me is that the media seemed to 'know' that Liz Truss was the 'next Prime Minister' before the votes had even been counted.

Perhaps this was all part of the pantomime; Sunak was always going to end up as PM, however people need to be convinced that 'elections don't work' and democracy needs to be replaced with technocracy. "The people can't be expected to get these kinds of important decisions right, so we need to make them for them."

This is most definitely on the cards as well as surrounding the incident around The Dome of the Rock, we should expect sometime around this, troubles between Pakistan and India. This will be cooked up deliberately quite obviously.

It is surely no coincidence that the Labour party has already been for several years "cosying up" to the Muslim 'communities', and perhaps this is all part of the next stage of the "divide and conquer" theory.

There has been trouble 'simmering' between the Indian and Pakistani communities for years in this country, and recent events in Leicester and Smethwick provide some concern, I warned sometime back about people in the UK being primed to 'take sides'.

Whatever conflict has being going on in the Indian subcontinent for decades could well spill over into our country.

Rishi Sunak said he will “deliver” but didn’t say exactly what he would deliver. Liz Truss also said she would “deliver, deliver, deliver…” and she did; she delivered chaos by exacerbating the economic crisis instigated by her own party, when they forced individuals out of business during lockdown.

Sadly "deliver" is just one of these corporate 'buzzwords' that get thrown around to make people think that something has been 'achieved'.

The likes of Sunak and Truss couldn't deliver a parcel.

Farage can fuck right off. The man who can never follow through on things he starts or instigates.

He's already making noises about "returning to politics" again, so be warned, this just means he's either ready to start a new political party, or will try and infiltrate or worm his way into another one. He's already abandoned UKIP and the Brexit Party / Reform party, so perhaps he has an eye on Lawrence Fox's 'Reclaim' lot next.

The pied piper just acts as a 'pressure relief valve' for disaffected Tory voters, but this time around his antics will hand the election on a plate to Labour.

If he's so popular now within the party, why didn't they pick him in the first place.

Or was Truss meant to fail spectacularly.

    No prizes for guessing.

Sunak was the 'favourite' in the eyes of the media, and the 'elite' Tory party members who sit in the House of Commons clearly preferred him.

It was those damn pesky 'ordinary' Conservative grassroots party members who voted for Truss. How dare they not choose their 'chosen one'?

Truss was strung up like a kipper. I don't believe for a second that any of these Ministers actually come up with any policies that are of their own design.

Kwarteng was given 'duff policy' to push, and Truss, as PM, endorsed it. Kwarteng got thrown under the bus, then the following one took out Truss.

Kwarteng replaced by WEF stooge Jeremy Hunt. Truss replaced by WEF stooge Rishi Sunak.

And the wider Tory members didn't get a say. Now THAT's what I call democracy! 🙄

The 'duff policy' gets abandoned and its business as usual.

Guess what happens next? Sunak starts making noises about CBDC and digital currency, then decides to call an election in order to get a 'mandate from the people' for his 'bold ambitious vision'. The people say no, and vote in a Labour government, who press ahead and... introduce CBDC...

General Election next Spring, just watch...

I wouldn't give him that long. General Election next spring I'd predict - the puppet will be 'encouraged' to do so in order to win a 'mandate from the people'.

Sunak could promise everyone a free money tree for their garden, but the masses would still vote Labour, even if they pledged to murder every first-born infant.

Demolition order for 'home' built on city driveway instead of garage

A resident who built a property on his driveway without planning permission has been ordered to tear it down. The striking building - which appears to be a tiny house - was erected on a drive in Vaughton Street.

In 2019, Birmingham planners approved an application for a single-storey garage with a footprint of 5.3m x 4.6m and a height of 3.6m - but the building far exceeds that. It also bears no resemblance to a garage.

Following an unsuccessful appeal, the homeowner was told to demolish the new building in April. Inspector Thomas Shields, appointed by the Secretary of State, wrote in his report: "It is substantially larger than the approved building. It is not a minor difference.

"In comparison with the approved garage, the appeal building has a footprint of approximately 8.7m x 4.7m and a height of 5.3m. Instead of a garage door, there is a pedestrian door into the front room and a tripartite bow window. Two more windows in the rear elevation serve a separate, smaller room."

    From: https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/demolition-order-home-built-city-25280639

When is a garage not a garage? When it's a tiny little house! 🤪

Seriously, it might be a nice little 'annexe', but this is why we have planning regulations and why planning permissions are required. If you get permission to build a garage, and then go ahead and build a cosy little house instead, don't be surprised when a situation like this happens.

Was probably expecting some bent corrupt councillor to make sure that someone 'looked the other way'...

According to the bank, the national average of carbon emitted is 1,280 kilograms, while a sustainable figure is 200. The bank has provided the option to “pay a fee” to offset the carbon footprint.

This is ultimately what it all boils down to, another form of 'tax', a way to extract more wealth out of people, and thanks to the success of the social engineering propaganda, the 'virtue-signalers' will happily pay this fee because it makes them think they are 'doing good'.

I'm not at all surprised by this, so many people have been 'brainwashed' either by the social engineering propaganda, or in the case of council employees their Common Purpose 'training programmes'.

They really don't have a clue about how they are being manipulated, in one breath they'll say that its a "good thing" to blow up gas pipelines, then in the next they'll be complaining about their energy prices rising.

  15. We have the same problem in Birmingham, we have loads of gulls around the city, yet last week when I went to the Welsh coast there were very few there.

In their natural habitat, they will feed on fish that they catch from the sea.

They come inland to the big cities, because there is so much food waste littered everywhere, it is much easier pickings for them.

Councils are approaching this 'problem' the wrong way around - take away the food source and the gulls will go elsewhere, probably back to the coasts.

Provide more litter bins (that birds can't access) and educate people again about putting rubbish in bins, rather than just dumping it on the streets in the expectation that "someone else will clean it up".

And also educate people about leaving large amounts of food waste in parks, they think they are "feeding the birds", but the smaller birds don't get a look-in once the larger gulls start muscling them out the way.

The birds will breed near where there are plentiful food sources, that is in their nature.

Ok. The best way to resolve this argument once and for all is to post a verifiable photo of the flat Earth. Without this everything else is just unprovable speculation.

I would appreciate polite and sensible replies.

I already posited this in this thread.

Flat Earthers "demand proof" by providing a photo of the Earth showing it is indeed a 'globe' or 'ball'.

I accept that due to the lack of actual cameras out there in space in orbit around our planet that there are not any actual 'real photos' of the Earth that we can gaze upon.

But for exactly the same reasons, the "Flat Earthers" are unable to provide any actual photographic proof of the Earth being a flat disc.

So as far as I am concerned this is either 'stalemate' or 'checkmate'.

Cocaine washed up on beach near Aberystwyth worth £42m

    Bags on beach

Bundles of drugs that washed up on a beach are worth about £42m, police have said.

A large number of black bags tied to plastic tubs were found by passers-by on Tan-y-Bwlch beach near Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, on 1 October.

More bundles were later found and all are thought to contain cocaine.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the haul weighed about 1,200kg and warned the public not to touch any more if it washed up, but to contact the force.

A statement said: "Forensic work continues on the substance found in the bags, but we believe it to be cocaine weighing approximately 1,200kg. This amount would have a wholesale value of approximately £42m.

"Our investigation continues and we reiterate to the public that if they find anything suspicious on the beaches, the contents shouldn't be touched and police should be contacted immediately."

    From: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-63286220

That's an awful lot of cocaine to just go 'missing' and be found in the sea at Cardigan Bay.

Of course, anyone remember this from earlier this year?

Was all this dumped at sea during this 'exercise' which was just a 'cover story'? Or were the military using this as an excuse to try and find all this cocaine?

It all smacks of bullshit to me, fearmongering propaganda designed to keep people fearful and controllable.

You can just imagine a situation where millions of people are sat at home, glued to their TVs, watching the news reporting on 'massive blackouts across the country', while the lights are on and their electric kettles are still boiling. 🤔 Yet despite there being NO such blackouts, people will still believe it is happening, "because its on the news".

The 'covid pandemic' only ever really existed on the TV and in the media for exactly the same reason.
