I mean there's obviously some evil people that conspire, but there are definitely quack conspiracy theories that are seeded into public discourse to discredit truthers. Another issue is that many of us buy/bought into a lie, in the sense that it turns out that conspiracy theorists don't actually do as much research as they claim. Too many people are demoralized to the point where they are stubborn contrarians that refuse to look at both sides of a story, or there are just a lot of shady people out there. The most obvious example of dimwittery and contrarian foolishness that I can think of is people that blame everything on muh zio West. When you mention the fact that zios believe in undermining the West they go quiet. This should be a massive red flag to anyone with decent morals.

I hope I'm wrong about Trump and some of the other wealthy elites, but Trump is a bit too friendly with Israel and Russia, which are two nations that don't exactly have nice views in regards to America and the West. Edit: Obviously the working class and middle class voting patterns have no doubt shifted a bit over the years.
