The drains are not routinely maintained in London, local council and TfL roads, you don't see anymore the drain covers being opened up and the collected debris sucked up/washed out by a street cleaning suction lorry. It is quite normal to see drain covers blocked solid with material or with asphalt from road resurfacing and they left like that for years. When it rains the water in the gullies flows straight over the blocked drains and often 3 or 4 more drains in a row can be the same, the rain justs builds up and when there is a low point/dip in the road like in the photo below with blocked drainage you get flooding.
One of the photos in the BBC article showing flooding in London has a street cleaner trying to clear a drain with his broom handle.
Ha, ha, ha, banged to rights. Lack of maintenance not so called climate change.

Some hotels I expect will revert back, others staying as migrant barracks. If things remain the same for places that have a tourist holiday industry then they will not be getting visitors/tourists. Will we need hotels or so many in a 15 minute city UK of the future? I can see more private property moving from the hands of private owners/landlords to central control be it governmental or big corporation ownership.
With regards to Europe these people have entered and crossed countries that have compulsory ID card laws. We are told ID cards for the UK will solve the "illegal" immigration problem. If after travelling we are returning to the UK as a British citizen we have to show a passport and comply with all the security checks yet for government sponsored immigrants that does not apply. Given the chaos, I don't think we should be required to show a passport anymore when travelling back to the UK and not be asked any questions by boarder guards, if they decide to, at the ports. Nor should there be any import limits, customs checks. The same rules for everyone.
I suppose many are now worried if their town, neighbourhood or street will get a migrant hotel and everything that it creates.

I closed down my PayPal account 2 years ago to cut down on my internet footprint, data floating about and doing a little bit not to encourage the corporate giants.
This photo ID for accounts etc. will be an easy avenue for the online phishing scammers to trick people to give valuable personal data.

I expect this site will at some point be forced down the age verification route or UK IPs blocked and so on, especially if there is another scam like in 2020-21. I have already reduced my internet usage and continue to steer clear of smart devices, if it comes to it I will not be uploading any ID or any of that facial age verification scans.
If enough people dropped out that would leave a big hole in the security service's data surveillance net, they would be fecked without the easy to get live electronic information.

These days, so much in art in our country is commercial advertising - produced and exploited for commercial profit. I'm glad it was banned, not because it's actually quite a good piece of satire, but because it is itself is a symptom of this country's decline.
You are spot on about digital money and the digital prison.
For decades and decades people have been bomarded, beaten down and steered with relentless commercial advertising and MSN news. I don't have a TV at home and I really find it unpleasent if in am in someone's home and the TV is pumping that stuff out.
