The number 27 In the time travel sci-fi novel "The End of Eternity" (1955), by Isaac Asimov, a key character is 27 years old and a key event occurs in the 27th century. (There are no major plot spoilers in this post). Although Asimov was a Jewish atheist, he appeared to draw on Religious themes for his stories. For this story there are shades of the 'Adam and Eve' tale, IMO, with the 27 year old lady (Noÿs Lambent) being a sexy female 'Eve' character who causes trouble in a male-dominated 'paradise', aka "Eternity". In the 27th century a timeless dimension ("Eternity") is entered by humans ('The Eternals') and becomes an HQ from where time travel can be planned and executed.

I think that only a 'physical death' can break the bond with your physical body. Other methods eventually return us back into our bodies.

The 'freezing of Time' (original TIME, not the copy) is not to be interpreted literally, IMO, but refers to channeling cause-and-effect (karma) into a loop (or vortex) that seems separate from original Time (original cause-and effect). A whirlpool in a river isn't separate from the river, and moves in the same direction, but an illusion of separateness is created. We humans are temporarily stuck in a whirlpool of time and cause-and-effect.

I think that there are two types of "Time" - the true 'divine' original and the distorted copy, of which the latter is the one that we have here in our world. So 'the end of time' refers - I reckon - to the breakaway from original Time and shift towards our version. Our human bodies are evolving towards becoming the 'Holy Grail', a vessel that is as far removed from original Time as is possible to be. Why? A fool's attempt to escape its' karma (aka God's judgment/wrath). It's impossible, but hey ho.
