Cash Access UK
Grumpy Grapes replied to Grumpy Grapes's topic in Economy, Banking and the Monetary System
The CEO of Cash Access UK is a former Lloyds Bank executive, Gareth Oakley, who is also chair of Lightning Reach, whose founder, Ren Yi Hooi, worked at The Rockefeller Foundation in impact evaluation. https://spaced.work/backyourself/lightning-social-ventures-ceo-ren-yi-hooi-on-startups-hacks-all-entrepreneurs-need-to-know/ https://techround.co.uk/women-in-startups-tech/19-ren-yi-hooi/ Lightning Reach "Our mission To be the leading global platform that seamlessly connects people in financial hardship to the support they need, empowering them to get on the road to financial recovery. "Our vision To enable anyone to access the support they need to build lasting financial resilience. "At Lightning Reach, we’re driven by a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves access to the help they need to get back on their feet and build financial resilience. "Right now, that’s not the reality. Every year, over £23 billion in benefits, grants, and other support goes unclaimed in the UK. Not because people don’t need it, but because the systems are too complex, fragmented, or hard to find and navigate. What we do "We're on a mission to change that. Through our one-stop portal, we help individuals connect to multiple forms of support quickly and with dignity. Plus, we empower the organisations that serve them to deliver that support more efficiently and transparently. "When the system works better, people can thrive, not just survive. https://www.lightningreach.org/about-us -

Your Party We said we would do things differently. Today, Your Party invites you to help draft our founding documents—our Political Statement, Constitution, Standing Orders, and Organisational Strategy. These core texts will become the cornerstones on which Your Party is built, setting out our principles and the way we operate. We have published the drafts on the Your Party website – you can read them here. Read the draft documents But publication is just the start. Over coming weeks, Your Party members will come together to discuss and debate the documents at regional assemblies around the country – true deliberative democracy in action. The ideas they generate will be incorporated into new drafts, evolving the documents as we go. And for those who can’t make a regional meeting in person, we will be holding online assemblies too. That’s not all. Our pioneering digital democracy feedback portal will allow members to suggest changes online. To ensure this opportunity is available to all members, this feature can only be launched once the data of those who signed up on Thursday 18th September is transferred to Your Party by MOU Operations Ltd. We are hopeful that will happen soon, then we can push ahead with the democratic process that members rightly demand. The conclusion of this unprecedented democratic exercise will come at Your Party’s founding conference on 29th-30th November in Liverpool, where the documents will be debated and amended by a representative selection of members, decided by sortition, before being voted on by the entire membership in a one-member-one-vote online ballot. This animated video explains the process up to the conference – please watch and share! The drafts published today are just that – drafts. But there is already plenty to get excited about. Together they lay the groundwork for a genuinely democratic, member-led party, designed to bring about the transfer of wealth and power, now concentrated in the hands of the few, to the overwhelming majority. The draft proposals include: A Central Executive Committee overwhelmingly composed of elected grassroots members, including the chair and deputy chair, with sovereign power over party affairs. The election of the Party’s Leader and executive to begin soon after the conference, starting in January and concluding by the end of March. These elections would be one-member-one-vote and run by an independent, third-party service. A fixed term for the Leader – for the first Leader this would be no more than 21 months to the end of 2027 Full open selections for candidates standing to be MPs or other public officials, including mandatory reselection. A strategic focus on community organising and building power. Full sovereignty for Welsh and Scottish members to decide on their own structures. Today we’ve launched the founding documents; now it’s over to you. The first step, if you are not yet a member of Your Party, is to sign up now. You must be a member to participate in this democratic process. If you have already joined (under either system), have a look through the documents, find your nearest regional assembly, and come along with your views! And soon, you’ll be able to get involved online, too. This is your chance to help build a party for the many that wrests power from the billionaires and corporations that now control our country. In solidarity, Your Party -

There's a day of cash only, digital non-compliance planned for the 18th November. Also in Australia. Once again, who is planning it?

Laura Eisenhower writes that the universe is on her side. Personally, I think that the Ruling Elite are on her side. lauramagdalenaeisenhower "Something powerful is shifting. Across platforms, people once de-platformed or censored are suddenly finding their voices restored ~ channels reopened, visibility returned, creative flow reawakened. My own YouTube channel, long taken offline, has just been restored. This isn’t coincidence. It mirrors a larger energetic turning in the collective field. "This week’s planetary alignments read like a map of reclamation, the reclamation of voice, purpose, and community connection. The cosmos is saying: truth is self-correcting. Jeremy Corbyn and Your Party PoliticsJOE "At the launch of Your Party in Liverpool, Jeremy Corbyn delivers a powerful and inspiring speech calling for the creation of a strong left-wing alternative to Keir Starmer’s Labour Party. Speaking to a packed audience of supporters, trade unionists, and grassroots organisers, Corbyn argues that real political change will not come from Westminster, but from community organising, solidarity, and collective action. "In his speech, Corbyn reflects on the state of British politics under Keir Starmer’s leadership, criticising Labour’s drift to the right and its abandonment of transformative policies that once inspired millions. He calls for a renewal of the values that first built the labour movement — public ownership, social justice, peace, and equality — and urges the crowd to build a new force for hope and dignity in working-class communities across the UK. "Emphasising the power of grassroots movements, Corbyn celebrates the local campaigns, food banks, mutual aid networks, and housing struggles that continue to embody the real spirit of solidarity. He argues that Your Party will channel this energy into a political platform that speaks directly to the needs of ordinary people — fighting poverty, defending public services, tackling climate change, and standing firmly against racism, war, and exploitation. "Corbyn’s speech marks a historic moment in the birth of Your Party, offering a roadmap for a democratic, compassionate, and community-led politics that puts people before profit. Watch the full speech now to hear Jeremy Corbyn’s vision for a fairer, more equal Britain, and the movement determined to make it happen. Like PoliticsJOE? Errata - it looks like the organiser is Fiona Rose Diamond, whom I don't have a problem with.

I'm doubtful about the organisers' true motives, but a protest was inevitable I guess. Marble Arch (London) Event by Class Struggle https://www.facebook.com/events/1611656333155578/ https://davidicke.com/2025/09/26/london-digital-id-protest-gathering-october-18th/

It's not coincidence that the New Age Movement, UFO speculation and the merger of Man with Machine/Computer are all happening at the same moment in history. -
