That's a bit true! I was at some event the other week, and some guy was asking me about an amusing t-shirt I was wearing. He asked me where I got it from, as he wanted one as well. I told him the name of the company (Newsthump) and the first thing he asked me was "are they on Instagram?" They probably are, I don't really know as I don't use Instagram myself! I tried explaining that he just needed to search for them on Google, and you can buy from their website. Maybe he'd had a bit to drink, because he looked utterly bemused by what I was telling him to do, like I was speaking a foreign language! This wasn't some young kid either, he must have been near the same age as me! But this is the thing for many people hooked on social media and 'apps', it's like they've forgotten there's a whole internet out there, outside of whatever social media app you use/depend on. I'm reminded of when I first ventured onto the internet many years ago now, when I signed up with AOL. You got some program called 'AOL Explorer' and it gave you all this online content, which was amazing (at the time), but it was very much all 'curated', and only let you explore what AOL wanted to provide you with. It took me a while to realise that I could actually use Internet Explorer, and then find a whole 'world-wide web', outside of the constraints of the AOL browser. It seems to me that social media, and 'apps' in general are taking us backwards.

On the other hand, it also serves as a 'kick in the teeth' for those good honest folk - such as myself - who do go to work and earn a living, which pays for rent/mortgage, council tax, household/energy bills, and puts food on the table. As well as being obvious 'click-bait' to generate advertising revenue, it's also 'rage-bait', designed for people to share on social media - as they can't comment on the articles themselves - which then stirs up a whole load of other arguments. One thing I do find curious though, is that all these 'universal credit scroungers' mostly appear to be 'white people'. Of course, in these latest examples, it's all 'white women' but I have also seen similar articles featuring 'white men' as well. Strangely, you don't see any such articles about Asian/Pakistani men boasting about how much they 'earn' from Universal Credit, while having a nice sideline in dealing drugs, operating protection rackets, or stealing cars to strip them for parts. Admittedly, I've not read any of the articles I have linked to above, so I don't know what they're about. The purpose of this post is just so that I can point out yet another example of how the mainstream media are using social engineering to manipulate the public's perception of reality. Actually now I think about this, maybe this is also some 'predictive programming' in order to drum up support for when the current Government wants to try and reduce the benefits/welfare bill due to the black hole in their finances. I never really use facebook (fakebook) as I can't stand seeing people showing off and how many "friends" they have. but I have been using it lately to join groups of things I am interested that I couldn't really find anywhere online, stuff like community groups where people share past photos of the town I live in. Facebook groups of hobbies and pastimes such as TV shows past and present are very popular, and I have to admit they can be a good place to chat to like minded people. The problem of course with facebook groups is the admin idiots who run the groups who dictate every rule and will ban anyone who doesn't abide the endless list of rules, so if you're talking about things like why there is so much woke on TV, then you're likely to get banned from the group for simply just mentioning it. Facebook groups seem to be replacing old fashioned website forums. Not a good place to be though if you're talking about subjects we talk about on here.

I also feel that the solution which will be presented to solve this problem will be UBI. The articles seem to be asking for a reaction in classic Hegelian Dialectic form. Perhaps with the comments turned off, a release valve is being denied to allow for resentment to simmer offline. The main themes of the articles are that the women involved are scroungers and being called out as such by "trolls" online with sympathy coming from some quarters. One of the women bemoans having to attend the Jobcentre to sign on fortnightly describing the experience as "mortifying". There are suggestions that Universal Credit leaves them "stuck" on social security support - it is pointed out that they would be no better off working and can receive "free money" "to do nothing" instead or to raise their children. Having children is a theme too with one mother prioritising spending on her appearance rather than her children but, equally, she does budget well. UBI could be presented to solve these aspects of the "broken system" alongside other issues too such as scrutiny of the bank accounts of pensioners claiming means-tested benefits. If everyone was simply paid a flat rate, it could mean: No more need for Jobcentres, signing on or medical assessments. Claimants won't feel have to undergo a demeaning tick box experience. People will truly be better off if they work as UBI will not be reduced according to earned income. It would provide an incentive to work and whether or not to do so would become a choice. Parents could choose to be with and raise their children guilt free rather than working thus supporting better quality childhoods. People could take time off to re-train, study or volunteer. Pensioners would be left alone in their dotage. No more need to scrutinise the bank accounts, income, capital and other circumstances of benefit recipients. Hard working people may no longer feel hard done by and that they are subsidising the lazy and work-shy. The end of benefit fraud. The end of complaints about benefits scroungers. It's a divisive topic which could be put to bed. Government expenditure on the vast majority of social security administration would no longer be needed. In all honesty I can see the appeal of UBI which, on the face of it, could make for a much fairer system with more freedom and choice for all. Problem with conspiracy subreddits is 90% of it is Yanks talking about Yank politics and issues. Any attempt to discuss UK topics hardly gets any replies, the Yanks aren't interested in anything outside their country and most of the time I'm not really very interested in their politics either. At least here you can discuss things that are happening in the UK and most posters will know what you're talking about.

A growing global awareness that 'news' is propaganda and therefore dead: Following this awareness comes the awareness that any discussion of alleged 'news', even the motive is to supply a counter-narrative, inadvertently legitimizes the propaganda. The only way to win is not to play at all. The result? Less 'news' discussion on this forum. 4. Dead Internet bot-farm apocalypse: Most of the people we debate with on internet forums do not exist. They are AI-bots. They push opinions which are programmatically controlled to spread fear, confusion and division. Who wants to interact in forum-spaces where increasing numbers of users are inevitably not real? If I wanted to do that, I would sign up to Reddit. 5. Everything that needs to be said has already been said: At this point, if a person reads the content already on this forum; and reads David Icke's books; and reads freely-available, occult-meta-analysis studies like Anti Ultra by The Castalia Foundation etc. Then there really is nothing more to say.
