As far as I am concerned, we all already have a 'national ID' in the form of a National Insurance number. That is enough to 'prove' we can 'access the products and services in the UK we are entitled to'. Like, employment and benefits etc. As for 'physical photo ID', we already have passports and driving licences. It sounds to me once again like 'pandering to the minority'. OK, so me personally I don't drive, so have no driving licence that I can use as 'photo ID'. But I do have a passport, even though I haven't used it for a few years now. Even if you're not planning on travelling outside the UK any time soon, it seems to me that it would be cheaper to invite any legal UK citizen without a passport to apply for one free-of-charge, than to spend millions of pounds on developing some new 'digital ID' system to do the same job. As for 'abuse and fraud', any digital ID system is not invulnerable, same as for all the fake passports and driving licences, its probably much easier for unscrupulous individuals to just generate fake digital IDs as and when deemed necessary.

I just take that as an opportunity to buy cheap tasteless food and save me a few bob. He says: "With Covid, you can get antivirals, but this will only be beneficial if you get tested really early. People over 75 can get a free vaccine against Covid on the NHS. This can offer good protection, even against the new variants, says the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). It is urging people to book their vaccinations against flu and another common winter virus called RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) as cases start to increase ahead of winter. I made the above quoted post on another thread. I don't know what the up to date figures are, but if even a small percentage of these folks coming here from Ukraine are enemy agents, then that's a lot of danger we have to contend with. Think about Iran and how it got infiltrated. Some people might argue that there are differences between Russia and Ukraine, but it would be a hell of a lot easier for Russia to infiltrate Ukraine, than for the CIA to infiltrate Iran. Who in their right mind would have given the nod to this scheme and on this scale? On the one hand, we have all of the MSM 'baddies are trying to infiltrate/destabilise/attack our society' scare stories; while on the other hand, we have schemes like this going on in the background. And, how many are going to end up settling here permanently? It is totally ludicrous.
