Grumpy Grapes 252 Posted February 10 (edited) Sorry to be negative, but I don't trust "Mind". The current President is Stephen Fry. Its' origins lay with the Eugenics movement. "The NCMH had been an organisation of psychiatrists and psychologists, while the CAMW comprised representatives of various voluntary bodies. Among other things, they helped run and monitor institutions for the mentally handicapped, and developed training for mental health professionals. They were both part of the social hygiene movement, and had advocated eugenics and sterilisation as a means of dealing with those considered too mentally deficient to be assisted into healthy productive work and contented family life." A sponsor of Mind is BUPA who along with the Gates Foundation supported the healthcare company BABYLON. Edited February 10 by Grumpy Grapes 1 Quote Link to comment
Grumpy Grapes 252 Posted February 10 (edited) Stephen Fry has a Gates connection, via the "Goalkeepers Events", started by the Gates Foundation. "In conjunction with the report, the Gates Foundation will be hosting two Goalkeepers Events in New York City around the UN General Assembly. Former President Barack Obama, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, Malala Yousafzai, Richard Curtis, screenwriter, producer and film director, and Stephen Fry, actor, writer and presenter will join events on Sept. 19 and 20." The Gates Foundation supports mental health initiatives. https://www.gatesfoundation.org/goalkeepers/the-work/accelerators/mental-health/ Edited February 10 by Grumpy Grapes 1 Quote Link to comment

So which mental health charity do you suggest Grumpy Grapes? There is still six weeks till the event. Jamie might be able to change to another charity. Quote Link to comment
steven geldenhuys 171 Posted February 14 Maybe Jamie can go a few rounds with the missus. We know the outcome, where he will be clobbered, but it will be good fun to watch! Quote Link to comment
