View Full Version : Coming back
I have problem recently to come back from deep meditative state into normal life. How those of you who goes into deep meditation manage to go with your ordinary life?
Deep peace and love actually keeps me in a passive state. And when I come back I don't feel like doing anything. Everything else is meaningless and superfluous. I need to feel some negative emotions like anger, lust or fear to put myself into a gear.
It's so nice to be up and high, but I'm still in physical body and I have bills to pay :)

What did you expect? You returned back to the Matrix of Suffering. Live year to year. If it seems meaningless, live month to month.
As you near Enlightenment you may find yourself living moment to moment just to get through the day. Go with the flow. If your current job requires a hard-ass attitude find a new one that attunes to your refined state-of-being.
Learn to live with the suffering. Use it to propel you to find Enlightenment, it is the only way to escape the suffering.

Go with the flow, don't accept it, don't resist it. I would enjoy every second of it. This is your experience and live it fully, don't forget why you here. LEARN, make mistakes and learn again. :D
Bills can wait :D
You sound like Madonna:p 'Vogue' :)

I've had trouble coming out of meditation and re-entering normal waking consciousness/everyday life. Just because I live slap bang in the middle of a city on the main road through the city. The avalanche of noise, agitation and general rajas is quite a shock to the system.
What you are describing sounds like you are slipping into a state of tamas, rather than a state that has the quality of sattvic meditation. This can easily happen with noticing it. Perhaps you are meditating for too long at any one time. The sustained effort of meditating, which is far more demanding than what most folk appreciate, can lead to states of tamas if one overdoes it. Shorter periods of meditation can produce a better quality meditation, providing the peace and rest, but without over doing and slipping into the negative. Deep peace and love actually provides an abundance of available energy, though the mental agitation that we spend much of our energy on isn't always present after quality meditation, hence there appears to be a surplus.
It sounds like some broader instruction, ideas, theory, etc. on how to incorporate meditation and develop a broader practical spiritual perspective of physical existence might be useful. There are plenty of suggestions of this in just about every spiritual tradition, so I would recommend that you look for this in whatever form of spirituality or path appeals to you.
Btw, I get what you mean about everything seeming meaningless. I see so much of our society and social habits and activities as more or less being ultimately worthless. But thankfully there are plenty of meaningful ways to spend your time and energy.

I'd say do some pranayama exercises before and after you finish your meditation.
Also remember in a meditative state, your mind and body go into a healing state as well. So you could be releasing negative energy which has been attached to you for a long time.
Grounding yourself before you meditate is a biggy. Too much energy travelling from base to crown will make you feel disconnected and out of sorts.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
