Everyone that wants to join should have to answer a question about something "Icke". Not anything terribly difficult, but something relevant. For those of us that have read David's books and know what he's about would have no trouble answering the question. For those that know nothing about Icke, but want to argue every point without having done any research or for those that want to post juvenile vulgarity, would have to try a little harder. :p
thanks for the suggestion.. We will be implementing a very different way for users to register on here shortly.

Although your idea sounds good on the surface, wouldn't that idea ultimately restrict any n00bs??
I mean what if they just had a general overtone about Icke and the conspiracy/agenda??
And they did'nt know too much about Icke or his work, but was mighty curious??
I vote no, but hey, that's just me. ;)
The truth movement needs all the help it can get.....:D

my irony radar seems to be malfunctioning - surely this is a not serious suggestion?
quiz people before they're allowed to set foot in the door?
what next, secret handshakes? monthly meetings in the back room of the Owl and Compass? (yes, yes, i'm being facetious)
a move like this will do a lot to damage the image of a forum connected to someone who supposedly spends all his time fighting the forces of repression - and will do nothing to deter the people you're so worried about.
We will be implementing a very different way for users to register on here shortly.
oh my, can't wait to see what that is ;)

I think I would prefer being called elitist than have to face the garbage that was on here when I rolled out of bed this morning.
Congratulations, however, to the mods who did an excellent job sorting it out in a very short time.
We are all here to share ideas and to help the new truthseekers. We wouldn't want to discourage them because they didn't know the answers to the questions they came here to ask.
I guess it could be as simple as checking ISPs against those of known spammers, trolls, multiple identities etc.

it's my understanding it's not quite that simple - some isps, AOL and NTL f'risntance share and rotate ip numbers, if you ban one bad guy you'll end up banning a whole bunch of people who don't deserve it.
that's the simple version - you'd have to ask someone more techy minded for the details :)

I was reading ickes books from the start. So i probably know more than some experts/followers here.

I actually meant IP not ISP and yes, I do believe that is the case with some ISPs. Not a techie either :p

I'm sorry if I've offended anyone. The post was very much tongue-in-cheek, but I think it's somewhat valid none the less....and here's why I say that;
First of all, I haven't noticed any 'noobs' asking questions out of true curiosity or engaging in a discussion with any real interest or wish to learn. From what I can tell, they've all got this preconceived idea of what David is about (prolly from some anti-Icke site or from the stupid-box), and then they come on here and argue about something they know NOTHING about.
So, I find it very tedious when answering a 'noob' honestly to a question like "are aliens for real?", only to find they're not really interested in your answer. All they want to do is scrap over something they really couldn't care less about, because it gives them a thrill to call you all kinds of names because you believe that aliens exist.
Some people just aren't ready to wake up.
On the other hand, if it is someone who is truly on a truth-seeking path, I don't think they would object to reading a short Icke article that requires their comprehension, which in turn will provide them with the answer to a simple question which will give them access to the forum.
Is that elitism? No way! It's an opportunity for them to hear what David has to say in HIS own words. For those that allow their programming to kick in and shut down after the first few sentences, well, they're going to have to make a special effort and try harder to COMPREHEND. For those that truly are on the very verge of waking up, it would be the biggest gift anyone could give them.
So, ultimately this method will benefit many. It'll spare us the boring rants of angry teens (or those that act like teens and pre-teens), and it'll help those that need the few last pieces of the puzzle on their path to truth and freedom.
Is that so bad?
