They;ve been doing this for more than a decade in Aust. That being said it was always voluntary, usually put forward by vets under the premise that if a pet (cats can get them too) runs away or become a smear on the road they can use a scanner to find its owner.

i think they will attempt to eliminate many of the poplus before trying to chip everyone.... itll be easier and after seeing major tragedy more people will comply...

LMAO! 'Pedigree' dogs are 'deformities' by definition...The professor doesn't look so hot either.

I'm still kicking myself for having my dog chipped before I awoke to the further implications of this.

The vets try to feed me this fear based crap too, however I tell them each time that I am not interested. I have never had any of my cats chipped and I am not going to. I even found a rescue group who did not make me get the chip because a lot of them force the chip on you too. Bottom line is that if your pet is an indoor on (and all of mine are), then why is it necessary to put a foreign object into them. Unless the vet techs are too lazy to read the pets charts when you come in for a visit. I am not interested in "what if" scenerios because that is not where I choose to put my focus on.

If you tolerate this, humans will be next.

Inbreeding is not good, but we have that in the human population, those that think they are elite.

Agree, they never come face on, always obliquely. They will wait till some opportune moment like some historic monumental event arriving which they themselves created.

Thinking about this, it would have to be something much greater than 9/11 otherwise people won't be shocked and awed enough to be compliant

It would have to be something like all out war in the mideast to put fear into the herd.

Baaa!

Yep; have to agree with you. The passing of the Cestui Que Vie Act during the Great fire of London springs immediately to mind...

BTW...what an avatar! *applause! (sorry, no emoticon clapping hands to hand).

I had no choice.I moved back to the UK from Canada and you are forced to microchip your dogs due to the UK being rabies free.

I got a pet dog and later found it was chipped in the ear. The Kennel Club etc are really pushing for it to be a standarized procedure.

My dog is chipped, if he's lost or stolen I can find him. I don't see the problem. About 3 billion people eat dogs or find it socially acceptable, does that mean humans are soon to be on the menu?

I read the Daily Mails article on dog breeding and microchipping and the logic made no sense whatsoever. How does chipping the dogs stop people breeding them? They can breed them...take the puppies elsewhere and sell them. Breeding papers can probably be falsified. I don't know it makes no sense and is another totalitarian tiptoe with greedy vets doing the dirty work.

There's nothing wrong with chipping your dog if that is something that believe in and want to do. But to force on everyone when not everyone is in agreeance with this is not a good idea. Instead people need to learn how to be accountable for all aspects of their lives and this includes if they are a pet parent too.

The chipping of animals has been found to increase/linked to higher rates of cancer in them.
