After attending a couple of festivals during the summer I noticed large amounts of people standing in ques unnecasarrily.Im not saying you shouldnt que or charge to the front but these people are standing in ques when there's no need to.Queing to get in when there's empty turnstiles queing at the beer tents when you can move along and walk straight up to the bar etc.
When coming out of a dance tent I told a group of people queing that they could walk round the other side and just walk in, none of them took my advice and continued to stand in the pissing rain:confused: I think they were afraid of loosing their place in the que:)
When I thought about it I realised that this must be the heard mentallity mindset in operation....its like there's a que I'd better join it instead of thinking for myself..

They didn't trust you when you said you can walk into the tent around the other side, but it's probably like you said they thought they would loose their place in the que.
I was usually one of the last to get served at the bar. I put it down to my good looks lol or the barstaff wanted to serve the ones with the crazy look in their eyes first. Hypnotists usually get served first. I knew a lad who though he could telepathically send a message to the bar staff so they'd serve him first. I seen this work but maybe it was because he was so uckingfugly. :D

Hahaha!! It is a UK thing I think.
When I was there last year, I asked someone, "what is with the bloody queues?"
Everywhere, queues.

What's the alternative to queues?

Queues were first invented in Britain during the 1800's, before that people would use swords and stab you if you stood still for a long time.
It's history.

There was an infamous bank robber named Allan Heyl who robbed
banks in the 80's - was in jail for 15 years and one thing he noticed
that had changed after his 15 years imprisonment - released in 2005 -
was that 'we have become a queing nation' ...
talking of queing and herd mentality ... I was in the bank today
and I was standing 1 metre away from the teller - instead of just
calling me - she has to push the button for this big flashing sign
to say 'Teller no. 3'!! push the button ... 'next customer please'
- in a robot voice ... can you not see there is a person in
front of you?

No not at all................What im talking about is people queueing when there's no need to, surely they can see, like me that if you go to the next gate along for example there's no need to stand in a queue.....just seems odd:confused:

I doubt your experience of that event. Might I suggest they had a reason to queue that you didn't know about.
People do not queue for no reason.
get a grip.
And queuing came about when they cut back on workers and made them work harder. hence fifty check outs at a supermarket but only one person serving.
Sack the workers and make the people queue.

Cordial Felicitations:
Comrade Albie: I respectfully disagree. In the USA we travel between cities on Super Highways that are punctuated by Toll Barriers so we may enjoy paying for the privelege. The Toll Barriers comprise a dozen or so Booths for collection of Revenue. It is a certainty, the majority of Motorists will queue at 50% of the Booths, leaving the remainder 'wide open'. 0,(zero) cars at the Booths!
As the great New York Yankee Catcher and Philosopher Yogi Berra once opined: "You can see alot just by looking".

Err, wouldn't you aim for a booth that you know to be manned? When you see four people queuing at a cash machine when there's one next to it free, don't you assume it's not working?
I bet those booths are only half manned.

Cordial Felicitations!, Albie.
That is precisely the point. The Booths have: Red or Green lights indicating status: Open or Closed.
Many Booths have Green Lights(indicating open for business) and not one car in line. These are the Booths I patronise, driving unimpeded to the Booth and Clerk.
I recognise Time as a precious commodity, as once it is gone, it is gone forever.
The author of this Thread is absolutly correct: There is a HERD mentality amongst the Citizenry.
I always chuckle as I motor right up to the Booth, pay my Fee, and motor away. EFFIN SHEEPS!

Don't those booths lead to different off ramps? Wouldn't you choose a booth to go a different way?
And I just bet those lamps are small and hard to see from far off.

Orthodox Jews Denounce 'Israel' and its Policies
these are not sheeple. sheeple are the ones who support israel and its false creation. sheeple are the ones who support war for oil, asian genocide.
There IS a herd mentality in this country (UK), based on fear, I think.
Once, on a long coach journey, I espied a very long (20+) queue outside the 'ladies' on a 'comfort' stop. Now, I dont queue this long to pee- ever, so I had a look in the 'gents' -too busy, -so I marched straight past the ladies queue & out into a nearby field, crouched behind a tall shrub & let rip. Hugely relieved,( it was a long journey) I walked passed the women in the queue - they'd seen my intentions but continued to stand- eyeing me with suspicion & bovinely chewing the cud as it were, with increasing looks of desperation on their already pained faces, as their bladders got fuller & fuller.
I watched them from across the way, in the cafe, still queueing,- contentedly eating a very quick meal, & wondered why the hell women put themselves through this ( I'm of that sex, as you've gathered) Needless to say, they had no time to shop or eat in the 15 mins duration of the break.
Conclusion? Well, Its a clear example of most of the citizens in the UK being unable to think for themselves - so afraid are they of not 'fitting in'. Those who control society have done a very neat job of controlling the masses......

As you are aware, Males are equipped, so that we may view the World as one vast urinal.
Another note on Motoring and Queues at Toll Booths. As I arrive at the Toll Barrier, I notice amongst the Sheep in the Queues, Motorists who had sped by me on the Highway as I was leisurely motoring along. They were speeding like the proverbial Bats Outta Hell, only to Queue up at the Barrier. Not noticing active Booths with empty lanes. It really is funny. Usually 10, 15 minutes later they speed by me again, only to Queue up at another Barrier and the whole process repeats itself.
Comrade Alberto!: No I am not a Mason, though as a Labourer I have served them as a Masons Tender. Read: Mason(Brickie).

I'm not for, or against, queueing, but what angers me is that most 'sheeple' as others have called them, tend to form one big, long, awkward queue for several checkouts. I know this might make me sound like a maths nerd, and you'll wonder why I've spent my time thinking about it, but you know, if you form an individual queue for each checkout, the queues are shorter and you're no longer moving at the speed of the slowest cashier.
The only time I push-in is at theme parks. What a **** I am, I know!
But you wait 90mins for a 90sec ride otherwise. :D

Yeah - I just love it when, on the odd occasion, I've stormed into the gent's urinal, & have seen the look of indignation on your faces, as probably one of the very last (?) male bastions is stormed........
Sorry chaps!

Thats nothing compared to the anger I feel when I come across the queues for ATM (hole in the wall) machines in the street. FFS - there's a GAP of at least 8-10 feet between the person at the ATM and the next bod in the queue! How much space do they need? Granted, there's the privacy thing, but, you're made to feel a complete jerk for walking through the queue to simply get by.Its the same in Banks.......

You guys say que, queue queueing or whatever..I've never heard of that before. After reading a couple of story I obviously know what it means. But here in the US we just call it "waiting in line". :D
And we don't call it pushing in, we refer to it as "cutting" :)

Suppose Indians were pushed out from the Ganges.
Bred with other races...but always had a dream of being allowed to return.
You wouldn't support that?
You'd prefer to uphold the racist views of those that now lived on the Ganges?

I don't know what world you people are living in but I've never seen anyone queuing without a reason. Might I suggest that you imagine this and because of your snobby attitude to most of people in this world (they're all sheeple, up with david icke and shit) you are distorting your minds to exaggerate this act.
Like racists who watch Crimewatch and come away thinking "all crime is done by blacky man."

Has anyone heard of the Neopolitan Line? (que for you brits) Well it sucks...I often travel to Naples to see my bro, Neopolitans have no concept of waiting for their turn.
For example trying to buy smokes at the train station, I get in line behind 3 people, next thing you know about 5 different people just walk right in front up to the counter and get waited on.
It is just f'n rude.
