View Full Version : A terrifying true story

OK guys I've waited a few days before posting this, so that I could 'get a feel' for the forum before entering this here.
Those of you who've bumped into me thus far may have me down as a total skeptic when it comes to the 'supernatural', which isn't entirely true. :o
I do largely accept conventional science, but this is one thing that's been bugging me for a long time.
This concerns something which happened two years ago to a friend of mine. She is a very down to earth person, blunt to the point of being rude sometimes, and I firmly believe she is a totally honest person who would never lie or exaggerate. It is because I am so sure of this that makes her story quite disturbing and challenging for me.
She (I'll call her G) had been working as a door-to-door salesman for an insurance company, and had been working in an area 50-70 miles from her home. She was driving back at night (around 8-9pm I believe) along a B road (for the non-brits among us, it's a country lane) with fields either side, and relatively straight.
The first thing that happened was her radio went to static, and no amount of fiddling would bring raise any station or signal. She didn't worry about this because in this part of the country, radio and mobile phone signals are notoriously bad. It's a very rural area, with only a few towns within a hundred or so miles, and the rest are villages.
Then G realised her Sat Nav device had frozen and was no longer talking to her, but again, after fiddling, she just put it down to crap technology and she was reasonably confident getting home.
This is where I start to get goosebumps just from writing this.
She looked up from her Sat Nav back up to the windscreen and there, standing in the middle of the road was a man, dressed in dark clothes, with dark hair. The car hits him, she feels the collision, the windscreen breaks, she feels the body clip her shoulder hard as it flies through the car and smashes out through the back windscreen.
G is hysterical, and gets straight on the phone to her boyfriend, D.
D picks up the phone hears G screaming about hitting someone in her car. He's worried, but explains that she HAS to go back to see if the man is still alive. Reacting to his suggestion, G screams and insists she cant stop the car or turn around, the whole thing was "TOO EVIL", she can't go back there.
D pleads with her to stay calm and keep her speed down and concentrate on driving. He doesn't push her about going back, and although she's still hysterical, she's slightly more calm then at the beginning of the call, and suggests she just get safely home and they'll sort it out. She hangs up, and he's sat there in their lounge, understandably shaken himself.
G calls back 2 mins later. She instantly speaks "i'm ok...i don't know what the fuck happened...my windscreens are fine...i don't know if i hit anyone or not...i feel weird...i'm gonna drive home...i'm scared but feel a bit better...i'm so glad i didnt hit him...i don't think i hit him"
D said he was still concerned, but himself felt slightly calmer because she had calmed considerably.
"Ok D, I'll see you in 45mins, its ok now" she starts, and then -
she sees, 100m up on the left side of the road-- a figure -
"OH MY GOD D, IT'S HIM, HE'S THERE AGAIN!!! OH MY GOD FUCKING HELL!"
and she hangs up. D is of course now in a state of panic. He quickly informs G's parents who live close by and they drive over so that all three are there when she arrives back.
After around 45mins, G arrives, speeding, pulls the car up into the drive, is out as soon as the engines off, runs into the house without shutting the door, falls into her mum's bosom sobbing and screaming frantically.
When they calm her down a bit, she says only that it was DEFINITELY the same figure she saw both times. and then she says that she wont talk about it anymore.
She didn't sleep for days. She never got back into the car again and refused to leave the house or look outside the window until her dad took it away and sold it. She wouldn't talk to anyone, and so everyone was understandably worried.
About 2 days after it happened I found out from her brother (also a good friend) and went round to see her. G has always confided stuff in me, and when I took her to the side, I asked if she wanted to talk about it, she said no. She was white, nervous, and still hadnt slept. I said, G, can I ask one question. She nodded, and I asked "What did he look like?"
I'll never forget the way she looked into my eyes with a look I've seen before or since - that of primal fear, and she said "C, he looked like PURE EVIL"
A week later, her mum cleverly got a medium round who she suspected was a fraud but knew would give her positive closure. The medium spent a short time there, asked G next-to-nothing about the incident and then told her she had seen the ghost of an animal- probably a stag, that had been killed on that stretch of road.
I firmly believe that G doesnt believe this explanation deep down, but thankfully it was enough to help her repress it away and move on. She was able to start sleeping properly again etc..
A few last details. She told her brother what the man looked like, hence the description above, and that he had an evil grin on his face.
When D was emptying the car prior to selling it, he took out the Sat Nav unit, and noticed that it had created a waypoint (a marker) on the road, where she had had the 'collision' and had created a reference for it that was a very long string of characters and symbols, such as hwugiegwf7efge7fe7f.
D thought this a bit odd and played around with the unit, and found that the normal maximum allowed length of name for a waypoint was 10 letters, that he couldn't enters symbols try as he might, and that the default format was Mark1, Mark2 etc..
Anyway they sold the car and they moved on, but i've frequently thought about it, and it lives in a part of my mind that finds the Mothman Prophecies interesting and terrifying, but I don't know what to make of it at all.
As far as supernatural is concerned, i have never had anything happen to me, and when people told me stories, it was always a friend of a friend it had happened to, someone i didn't know.
G was the first person I knew who had something to her, and what's more, I totally believe, as I said at the start, that what she says is true.
What haunts me, friends, is that she actually felt the man's body brush past making contact, and not only that, but two miles down the road she sees the same man standing by the side of the road.
Any thoughts?

Other than that, i can't really say anything else! I've never seen apparitions of any kind. But i know people that have, and i know that they arne't lying about it!
I hope your friend is over it all anyway! :)

:eek:That is a hardcore story indeed. Sorry but I wouldn't have the foggiest as to an explanation. The mothman stories probably do come the closest to that report, as far as I can think....

It is a poltergeist phenomenon. They are able to interact with our technology manipulating computer and electronic equipments. I had some experiences with these phenomena :

This story recall in my mind Transformers, the movie, (they are also shape-shifter):

That sounds like a terrible incident and I hope you friend is ok.
My friend was telling me last night how she had been travelling back up from England and was the passenger in the car with one of my other friends driving. It was a late night/early morning journey and at some point she thought that she saw someone standing at the side of the road. Apon informing the driver he said, 'thats so strange, I saw the same thing about 10mins ago.' I think they both thought it was the tiredness but think it would be very strange for them both to be 'seeing things' within 10mins of each other, and they both saw men also.
On a personal note, the closest I've ever come to anything like that was when I was about 15/16years old and saw an old woman in my bedroom halfway through the night. To cut a long story short, my best mate at the time, his mother's friend used to live in that house and her mother had died on that day. spooky but fun. :)

Prehaps it was actually exactly what G said it was....maybe there's no explanation....maybe it happened to teach her something later in life....im sure it happened for a reason....these reasons never come apparent untill some time after when its nessessary! Hope she's ok, just goes to show- the world is not what we think it is....:)

That was a great read
Myself and 3 friends saw a robed figure with no face at the side of the road (whilst driving) about 17 years ago, on a country lane in the UK. Definitely not of the world we have been taught about.
I bumped into someone the day after who'd seen the same thing but in the middle of one of the fields, years earlier than us.

i have had an acquaintance who was messing with psychotronics and mind control and had manifestations like that for quite some time, that almost drove him nuts. he has told me many weird stories like this, including manifestations of demons and Jesus! his version though, was that he had been manipulated by people who were testing mind control technology (HAARP), because it all started right after he had attended a few seminars, which means that these guys knew who he was and how to spot him and most important how to test him.
this situation has resulted to bipolar disorder, disassociation, other mental issues, pessimism and various beliefs that he adopted trying to research about his problem. few of those were ...ahem... conspiracy theories, magic, obsessions about religious apocalypse and stuff, hateful feelings towards humanity (decided to never have children for example) and some other things.
(latest i have heard of him, he has some mental issues, which he recognizes as such, but he is doing much better)
i have also had friends who have seen manifestations (i think i should call them mental projections instead) of various kinds and quite different. for example a friend of mine has seen an old lady sitting at the corner of his bed right out of the blue. she was there for a few minutes and then she was gone. this friend had also another friend, who was "seeing" things in broad daylight that others would not see. for example they were sitting on a bench in a park and all of a sudden he would become pale and stand still. when the others asked him, he would say "i just saw one go right past me". this guy was seeing what he called "little monsters", that looked pure evil and malicious according to him, however never hurt him physically at all.
then again, what about the "alien abduction" stories and other paranormal phenomena that people experience from time to time? science has an explanation for them, so they may all fit into the same category.
it could be obsession that gets induced when an emotion of fear just "takes over". many people experience stuff like that when reading books about magic, exorcism, invocation of spirits, ouija boards, freehand writing, channeling, astral projection, meditation and also practice stuff like that. also fiction books or movies about aliens, or ghosts, or anything that can be an invisible threat and cause psychological fear. sometimes after using hallucinogenics that are supposed to help induce the experiences more quickly or more effectively. what effect these things have, is that they disorient the mind so that it gets to mix reality with fantasy and can't tell which is what, like just when we get out of sleep, we are fully awake, but we still see things that were in our dream a few moments before that appear to be real.

When I was at school a friend threw a glass bottle into the air above me. I ran and thought I felt it hit my head. I could feel it smash. It hadn't hit me at all.
I suggest this lady nearly hit a man, thought she had, then later saw a man who looked a bit like him.
The fright of nearly killing someone is behind all this.

Well, her boyfriend D did a little bit of research and found a newspaper story about a car crash, but in that area of the UK, its mainly country lanes, and the incidence of car crashes is fairly even (and high!)
Yeah she's not mentioned it since. She has a baby boy now and is getting married soon. Thanks.
She's definitely not crazy, thank you very much, albie.

There are MANY things in this world of ours that we do not understand, and probably will never comprehend. This encounter could have been anything from a ghost to a reptilian to a demon, but that doesn't matter because what counts the most is that this event was REAL.
Hear me? REAL.
I know you are a skeptic, but take a moment and absorb this, if you haven't already. THIS EVENT WAS REAL.

...and if I were you, I'd be worried knowing that this figure could appear to you, or any of us, while you are driving down some lonely road.
ITS REAL.
That means that you could encounter this dark figure yourself.
My freind, you have one foot in the rabbit hole already and don't know it. Let go.
If this event was real, then perhaps other bizarre things could be real as well.

Something similar happened to me the other day, I had just left the pub and was walking home along a country road, it was night time and really quite peacefull. Anyways I was reminiscing about a goal Lee Bowyer scored against 'Boro the other day and it bought a cheeky smile to my face, Just then out of nowhere this crazy bitch comes hurtling down the road and smashes into me, I went flying through the window and out the back one, what makes it worse is that she elbowed me on the way through.
Anyway I had just got my composure back and carried on with my walk, now I dont know if this bitch's sat nav was out or what but she had turned round and came at me again, the same thing happened!!!
I'll never forget that evil cow's horrid face, this is the first time I've spoken about it.

The description is accurate, but not sure about the beard. G said he looked evil. That could mean he looked dead. Pale certainly.
Probably her primed lesser daemon. I don't know much else. The Romans and Greeks said everyone has a genius and and a daemon. Whatever it was she must have been fooling with something evil or she passed through a rift that allowed her to see it. Those things aren't as bad as (Iggi's) she just has to go back to being normal. If she can't control her fear, it will continue to lurk and get stronger from what I think I remember of some stuff I read. It's a long story. Sometimes those don't morph right and you see an ectoplasm, other times you see the full image. Some get lost and wander looking to attack those who A.) Have psychic awareness to detect them. B.) Create nuisances to draw energy and attention for strength and control.
They aren't always necessarily evil and connected to the person, but she's got some telepathic latent abilities if she hasn't experienced, or seen them before and wasn't passing through a rift. A rift to explain further is a center of evil or trauma caused by the forces of choas, evil, mischief, and human murder. Sometimes around points like these people go berserk for no reason and their mind can be under attack without realizing they are spiritually. The essence of the being that is the invader literally does what it can to draw fear and paranoia out of the person any way it can. The lesser daemon could have been warning her of something which has been on her mind or stalling her for some reason based on karma.
Generally speaking, they disappear after a little while. If this was an IGGI it could have been sent to attack or spy for it's master, however that person would have to know higher level magic to pull that off. I think this isn't an IGGI. IGGI distort when seen and usually attack invisibly. IGGI's are generally more frightening. These things have various names. I think they are called devas in India.
