Head of Royal protection in Norfolk, Chief Inspector Stuart Offord, admitted an ''error'' had been made when visitors had their cameras taken away by officers.
People had gathered to watch the royals make their way to and from the St Mary Magdalene church on the Queen's estate at Sandringham, Norfolk, last Sunday when their effects taken by police at the gate.
They were also body searched with a scanner and officers kept a close eye on crowds lining a path.
Sandringham Estate signs warn visitors that picture-taking is not allowed.
However, CI Offord said that it was the first time cameras had been seized at the estate.
''It has not been my policy while I have been here,'' he said.
''It was an error. I was not here when the decision was made, nor was my deputy, the officer concerned decided the provision was a way to look at the new measures on photography.
''As soon as I heard about it, it was addressed.''
Earlier this year, the Queen's lawyers warned newspapers against publishing paparazzi photos of members of the Royal Family and reminded editors of privacy obligations made under a press code of practice.
CI Offord added: ''Since the request the media have been extremely helpful and supportive by observing the house's wishes.
This Sunday, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh attended a service at the church. Among those who joined her were; the Earl and Countess of Wessex; Prince Andrew; Lady Mary Colman and her husband Sir Timothy and former Formula One world champion Sir Jackie Stewart.
Royal watcher Mary Relph, who has been attending the estate on most weekends around Christmas for 31 years, said: ''They normally only let people take photos on Christmas day anyway.
''The Queen looked lovely today, peach is a very good colour on her."

Because shes the Queen, perhaps if you gave me wealth and power I dont deserve I will let people take pictures of me all day. How come we can be filmed by live video cameras all the time on the street yet people cant take a picture of the Queen?
The funny thing is those who got cameras confiscated were probably big fans of the queen! They probably sang her anthem as they had their shit taken away unlawfully, idiots.
Those who have mentioned that shapeshifters lose control of their projection when older or under stress, is there anything to this idea or does it just make sense as it were?

I'm sure not just any photographer can take pictures, and I'll bet all the pictures that are taken are carefully gone through and telling one's eliminated... i.e. damage control. Cameras can catch and display anomalies that the eye can miss... and that would be bad news! If pictures surfaced showing these anomalies, which could and would likely be the case were the public to have free reign with picture taking.
I recall a visit by the Obama's to visit the Queen...

I also remember reading some months ago about some royal... maybe it was a duke or something, that was going bankrupt for paying out the a$$ to a public relations company for damage control. Paid to fix things by propaganda, or whatever means it takes to remedy the damage.

First of all, it makes no difference if its a normal law biding person or the most crazy terrorist, everyone knows what she looks like ffs.
I can see the "sense" in not being allowed to photograph members of the SAS, CIA or even the fear a cop has when he is photographed even though I don't agree any of the fuckers should remain anonymous, but for the most famous person in Britain or maybe even the world, what kind of reason would there be for a terrorist to even need a fucking picture of the queen let alone risk taking one.
Its a complete mess calling this some kind of security.

i do find it ridiculous that ordinary people have to be on CCTV and cannot have pictures taken by them of neither the royals nor police...
...but as we live in such a "balanced" world, the transparency of the ruling entities to the people is "obvious" (sarcasm intended)
we started the new year, 2010, with ice cold Europe, flooded Brasil and icy US with -42C in some areas, it even snowed in Asia!!! all this hapenning since the last two weeks of 2009 and these few days of January...what i want to say with this , is that it looks like NATURE is taking care of the BALANCE naturally. I can agree that HAARP can be at play in one place or two at the same time, but all these events at the same time is not mans hand directly causing it using advanced technology. Man has damaged loads of things stealing the natural balance of this planet in the last decades, a balance that Mother nature has taken centuries to create. I think that all the governmental efforts of stopping "climate change" by forcing rules only show them taking avantage of what they know is coming due to our inconsequent actions towards nature, but i do not believe for a second that these present governments are anywhere close to being worried with the planet. If they were slightly worried with the planet and it's inhabitants, solar panels would be sold all over and made compulsory, agrilculture would be allowed to normal people and many more things could be changed for better. Instead, we have fear being propagated all over, mind controlling and mind programming into violence of the children via games has reached levels of dangerous proportions, wars have not stopped and i see them only expanding and growing...
of course those who are responsible for the mess of this place cannot be human inside. being lizzards or not is not the question and it is only obvious that they are definitely evil. sooner or later humans will revolt against the deception and tyranny and they know it and are affraid of it. If you have nothing to hide why then run away from photos? from people? why not join the crowd? because these twats are guilty fro loads of murders...
...but NATURE is going to take care of all naturally. It will cost the lives of many, but there has to be a price paid for the balance to be restored.. i personally feel this time is NOW.
Let them hide from us, but they cannot hide from the balance that they stole from us!

For sure the cameras would of caught something anomalous, Im sure for various other reasons as well that, that was why no pictures were allowed.
