Of course, assuming consciousness is in the brain and can be copied, transferring your conciousness to a computer is equivalent to copying all the information in your brain, creating a simulated clone of yourself, and then committing suicide to destroy the original copy.

Yea, they have gotten quite far on this project. As far as I know there are already cyborgs with souls walking around. I knew one for 4-5 years, but now I do not know where he is anymore. I think he went back to his makers to help them make him better. I know of one who has been part of a similar project, but he probably isnt involved anymore. I am trying to find out where they are going to make the new ones. I think cyberkinetics might be involved on some level.
