Dear Friends
kind regards
Vince McMahon has announced that Bret Hart is returning to Monday Night Raw next week.
Part 1.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Part 2.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
It seems that both men must be somewhat desperate in regards to working together again.
Vinnie Mac bought back the Hitman because TNA launches their Monday Night show which goes head to head with RAW to kickstart a new Monday Night war.
Bret Hart must be coming back to work for his old enemy due to a money shortage.
What do you make of this situation?
If you could get back to me with your comments I'd appreciate it.
yours thankfully

I think Bret is okay for money (he made a lot in WCW)
IMO he is looking for some former glory. He used to fill arenas and now people probably don't even give him a second look on the street.

There could be a few reasons why Bret is returning, but I know the reason why Vince McMahon called him back.
TNA are launching their new Monday Night show that is going head to head with Raw and Vince has to stop the potential advance before it gets going.

my first thought when reading the OP is lack of money prompted his return.

nWo 4-life!
Oh yeah. Bret Hart has been under contract with WWE for many years and he's allowed to sit at home collecting royalities for merch etc. I guess it's time to bring back the beast. Boring personality though.

Moral Man, what reasons (other than money) do you think is drawing Bret back into the game?
Vince McMahon only works for the almighty dollar so we know his motivation. I would like to think that Bret isn't as consumed by money.

My theory is that maybe Bret Hart might be feeling the pinch of the credit crunch and has put his principles aside to make some money.
Its no big deal, he has to look after himself and feed his family like everyone else out there.

I too would like to think that he isn't all about money(Bret Hart)but that may just be the case. I do not want to see him wrestle, he is past it, he has suffered numerous injuries that are life threatening and a return to the ring, even for a one night, would be dangerous and take me out of the 'moment' & put me into an anxious state wondering if he will be ok.
As a fellow Canadian who has grown up watching this man put on masterful matches and always being respectful to others, I hope he isn't being influenced by monetary demons. Perhaps he wants to come back and give his career the closure that it deserves in the company that made him a star.

I can't wait to see Bret back. Money is probably a factor, but maybe he is also doing it because of his fans and to bring a certain closure to what happened to him?
Hogan debuting on TNA will also be well worth watching.

Bret is not broke. As far as former glory goes, he's paid a lot of money to travel around and do speaking engagements, as well as doing appearances at Independent Wrestling Shows. He is part owners of a successful junior Hockey team in Calgary, is a conributing columnist to the Calgary newspaper, has a best selling book, and owns property in Canada, and parts of the US including Hawaii. He's still very popular in Canada.
I think a lot of this has to do with him finally "burying the hatchet" with Shawn Michaels, and because his niece (Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart's daughter) and nephew (also Davey Boy Smith's son; The Anvil and Smith were both married to two of Bret's sisters) now wrestle with another "dungeon" trainee in the new Hart Dynasty, who also wear the Pink and Black. Bret is not only guest hosting, he's apparently set to be involved with a storyline leading up to Wrestlemania.
His book is fantastic. He's a little self centred and it comes across, :D, but it is a great read whether you like wrestling or not.

I will have more respect for him to NOT wrestle. Watching old timers (Holk Hogan, Ric Flair et al) wrestle when they are clearly not capable is embarrasing to watch.
Bret can show up, have a fake boxing/shoving match in his street clothes and that's it.

We all want to see him come back in his former glory, in the pink & black and give someone a figure four on the turnbuckle, but I don't think it should happen & frankly I thought he was done when he was inducted into their Hall of Fame. Coming back now alomst seems bizarre when you think about it.
He doesn't need to do it & could have easily gone to TNA or ROH to assist new talent, but instead he chose WWE, where his family was destroyed & where the most money is.
I am happy to see him back on t.v as a fan of his, but personally, I am weary of his intentions.

I heard Vinnie Mac is BIG on nostalgia, so he may be trying to tap into a former or older fanbase. I gotta admit, when I read Hitman was coming back, I just laughed at how desperate Vince is for those glory days. He should have a match with HollyRock!

The problem with being nostalgic in the WWE is this; most of the famous wrestlers of the past are dead due to improper unions & drug problems so there are only so many you can actually have return.
If 'The Rock' or 'Stone Cold' won't return to the WWE for a 4 month deal into a Wrestlemania payday, something is wrong, so why is Bret Hart returning?

Isn't Stone Cold unable to wrestle because of his health? I heard his knees are pretty bad, too.

Isn't Bret hart unable to wrestle? I hear he had concussions, seizures, palsy & memory loss.
Also, if Steve Austin can film his own stunts in a movie, he can wrestle, not full time but he could no question still put on a show.
I'm not trying to bite back at you, just saying that if Bret Hart can actually consider wrestling one match, I think Austin can do the same, or the very healthy Rock.

The Rock and Stone Cold have done things over the last few years, and both are rumored to be upcoming guest hosts. Scoring Bret Hart after all these years, after the Screwjob, after Owen's sketchy death.... that's a big coup for McMahon. He's obviously getting paid, and he obviously gets to "resolve" the Screwjob and his age old, real life feud with Michaels.

Haha, I TOTALLY forgot about that shitty movie Stone Cold made! I was also unaware of Hitman's health problems. As for the Rock, he doesn't look like he's as big muscle-wise as he was pre-hollywood.
On a side note: Don't get so pissed about wrestling, dude! It's...well, wrestling!

This is a quote from Bret Hart in 2003:
"My father told me, just after Montreal happened, that if they take your
integrity you have nothing. I won't let him, myself, my family, friends and fans
down."
As much as I would like to see him, WWE is way past Bret Hart's day in terms of their program. He doesn't & would not fit in with anyone there aside from a select few, and he will not be wrestling so there is little for him to do. We all remember him as one of the best tech wrestler of the 80/90's but if he can't do that, what will he bring to the WWE table? I, for one, do not want to see him wrestle as I would be fearing for his safety. This only benifits the WWE with a very short term ratings ploy, and it might be detremental to Bret's very loyal fanbase if he goes back to the company that "screwed him" as it were.
He's got his ring, he's in the fame, he should really be classy & officially retire.

Steve Austin is currently still under (a sizeable) contract to WWE which allows him, and the company, to cash in on his hefty merchandise sales. The cumulative effect of his injuries was severe enough to precipitate retirement from the active roster, in particular the botched piledriver by Owen Hart which buggered up his vertebrae.
As for Bret Hart, you won't see him pulling off any moves either, but some sort of extended program with Mr McMahon has been suggested. What form that takes will soon become clear but leveraging the likely Shawn Michaels/Undertaker rematch into the mix at this early stage, as they did on Raw, pulls up some intriguing possibilities. I find it interesting that people are questioning his motives...why shouldn't he make money if the deal is right? We know he's not exactly skint; his book has been a big earner for him, through sales and spin-offs, and remember that his contract at WCW was a set-for-life deal breaker: 2 million dollars a year, second only to Hogan in the pay league. He's a wealthy man and he's just about to get even richer. I for one don't begrudge him a red cent, and couldn't care less what fossils they wheel out on TNA this Monday night cos I know what show I'll be watching.
