alas. when we got to the bottom of the packet, there were no nuts.

The real question is why would anyone pay six dollars for pine nuts imported from China. I get them really cheap. :D

Don't they have to say "May Contain Nuts" now as a matter of law,
due to the many kids who now have peanut allergies? A lot of food
products are processed on the same equipment as nuts, and they
have to cover their ass with a packaging warning.
Interesting to note peanut allergies are a relatively recent phenomena,
since they began incorporating a peanut derivative into infant vaccines
to stabilize the rest of the gunk in the mix.

QFT, from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peanut#Allergies):
As the peanut is a member of the legume family unrelated to other nuts, individuals with peanut allergies may not be allergic to the other types of nuts, and vice-versa.

I LOVE YOU
G'day Ashyr.
I can understand the distress when you realised that your bag contained no nuts. That would not be a pleansant thing to find out.
Seriously though, I have wondered whether a business could be sued, especially in America, for the false advertising that is pretty much the vast majority of advertising that is done today. Phone companies are a classic for this. They start their pitch by saying that you have won a free mobile phone. Of course they never give you a free mobile phone unless you sign up with their company. I would have about 30-40 mobile phones by now if they did follow through on the free gift they say they are going to send out to me.
THANK YOU

I don't think pine nuts are nuts either. Aren't they seeds?
Anyway, you should sue their asses off for your lack of nuts.

Interesting limelady! I haven't thought of that before. I am big into the nutritional aspect of the conspiracy and was always suspect about allergies and this recent surge in gluten free food for celiacs. Did you look back into history at all for when allergies to certain foods began?
