I am sure this should become a sticky... mods?

A group has been working on their own version of an exchange/trade system. It can be found here: http://www.free2xchange.com.

This is a moneyless trade/exchange/barter system. The idea is to provide a way for people to trade without having to use debt notes.

The system is quite simple, users build a network of people they know and each adds stuff they can do. This stuff becomes their value or 'money' which can be used to buy things from others in their network.

A usury free credit system is being built as well. I think the aim here is to provide a simple way of managing IOUs in the denomination of the traders choice (i.e. you could invent your own denomination...).

Done my first trade :-) traded some film work for a painting from an artist mate of mine.

The barter system has been around for a while. They even have a Barter card http://www.bartercard.co.uk

These system WILL NOT work until human greed is destroyed and replaced with a new system.

I am supporting http://www.free2xchange.com Have not quite seen anything like it.

A major mind shift is required, these systems will play a big part in creating that mind shift.

What I love about this particular system is that I can put down all the things I love to do... and other people can then offer the stuff they love to do as an exchange for something I can offer. Basically using my spare time to do things I love and for stuff I otherwise would not have had. No greed involved here... I would be happy to do the things I love for free (well its not really free as the reward is my pleasure).

Anyway - I am working on building a network with my close friends.

For me I don't behave like a victim. I don't limit myself by hoping and waiting for the human condition to change.

So this is what I am doing to make a difference. I am simply using debt currencies only when I have no other choice, everything else... I trade/barter/exchange.

They should consider adding the option of payment by silver/gold as this is not recognised by the system and would only be considered a barter and it would provide a common means of exchange on the exchange.

I think the idea is going to be credit backed by the integrity of the account holder. So the creation of something like x$'s.

Anyone can issue credit, its basically an IOU. If I buy something from you for x$100 and write an IOU for x$100... that x$100 is 'value'. Now rather than hand it in for a 'real' dollar... all we do is use it as 'money'. It can travel around until that x$100 comes back to you... then its orbit as such is complete.

On the other hand... you may be able to create your own 'currency'. So Gold or Silver or Sea Shells. At the end of the day it will be up to you and your network to decide what currency you would like to use.

For me - I like real things to trade however I don't mind accepting someones IOU in whatever denomination it is weighed in.

The change required in peoples minds however is a world that works interest free and without inflation. This is why I feel it is better not to link your own credit with current money systems... those systems are far too out of control and manipulated.

Lots of people appear to be signing up - next you need to start adding the things you can do, and of course invite your friends to join as well.

Another advantage of trading and exchanging is the community you build as well as the pressure as such on ensuring your integrity...

When I recently did some filming for someone for a trade, I really wanted to do my best. It wasn't a job... it was an experience.

This is a great idea, and like all new ideas, even if based on old ideas should be addressed pragmatically.
The system we have is shite, therefore a new one needs to be developed.
These guys are giving it a go.
