he has written some very interesting and lurid novels...
books like imajica and weaveworld for example...
plus the great and secret show novels...
his work is packed with interesting ideas and people...

i guess what i like about his writing the most is that he believes
in the impossible...or the unlikely anyway...he writes about
the human spirit and human cruelty and desires...

i guess he alludes to an outcast world at the edge of human existence...
he seems to think we can all grow and expand our lives and minds...
its a universe of mystery and adventure over static boredom and oppression...

as an author he represents a real different style and message to most modern british writers, any other fans out there ?

Hi banjaxo

I read Weaveworld & Imajica a few years ago & loved them. Would like to read them again now to get a fresh perspective on it all.... might have to dig them out...:)

Imajica truly was a cracking read: overall the best Barker book i've read. Boy he used to be able to crank out the prose!

Barker rules. I've read only a few of his books but they've been good. One was a children's book, but was still a good read.

If you liked Hellraiser, the novel The Hellbound Heart is well worth a read.
