That's Dervla Kirwan didn't see her in the M&S ads - but all the others. Christmas is a strange time when people reveal really how much they exist in a fantasy world and sing songs about Santa Claus and don't have a clue what the hell they are doing it for!

That's Dervla Kirwan didn't see her in the M&S ads - but all the others. Christmas is a strange time when people reveal really how much they exist in a fantasy world and sing songs about Santa Claus and don't have a clue what the hell they are doing it for!

She's apparently the woman who does the voice for the "sexy" M&S adverts. It's not the shitty Christmas one. I hate that one as well. I hate celebrities in adverts in general. How will seeing a famous person tell me to buy something make me want to buy it. They rely on morons and so I feel they're refering to me as a moron. The mere thought of me taking this propaganda seriously is just stupid.

Even with it on mute I still get pissed off when I see Ant and Dec trying to sell me shit. Especially that shitty DS game. Oh look I can make a stupid smiley face and change the sound of my voice. That's FAR better than what I can do with Photoshop and Cool Edit. Next they'll be interviewing people about their choice in shoe laces. "I like these coz they got red stripes on them and they keep my shoes on 'n' shit.

i never thought about it that way Chris, but you are right, they gear adverts for morons - 'hey you crazy cats, buy these police sunglasses for only £300 and you'll look just like a twat too...' :rolleyes:

Ant and dec are just media whores, their cheeky chappy faces just make me wanna brick the TV. altho Alien autopsy aint half bad.

I don't have a TV now I don't watch it except occasionally at a friends. But I've seen these ads and they make me aware of the hard Celebrity Christmas Sell and the Smell of Hypocrisy and ignorance roasting in the oven. For a person Jesus Christ who probably never existed, but if so wasn 't even born on 25th December. I'ts largely based on the public wanting to "Emulate" these celebrities selling Christmas. What I find unnerving is the crossover between characters of TV Drama's crossing over into TV adverts as if these people are real people, when they are just characters in a drama. It shows how TV sells a fantasy world and is a world unto itself that sells ideas to people and perpetuates societal norms - that we all must subconsciously want to be celebrities and be on TV becasue they are part of an elite "Church" of superior beings! Why? Because they are on TV and we arn't!!!

That's a good discription of them. Though there's another element to the ads that irritates me. It's the whole atmosphere of it that really makes me mad. I can't quite describe it other than a perverted relaxed or sterileness of it. The DS ads have always been like that, but ading the two idiots has only made it worse. I think the atmosphere has only amplified all that is bad about them. Though yes Alien Autopsy was pretty good. It's a shame it's probably the only good thing they've done in their whole career.
