Child abuse detective jailed for grooming girl

Andrew Rowe had worked as a police officer for 12 years
A former child abuse detective who admitted grooming a 15-year-old girl on the internet has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.
Andrew Rowe, 31, of Ashwood in Stoke-on-Trent, sent the girl, who cannot be named, hundreds of messages on a social-networking site.
In September he admitted five charges under the Sexual Offences Act.
Rowe had worked for Staffordshire Police for 12 years until he was arrested in April.

The force said Rowe, who specialised in child abuse cases, resigned after his first court appearance.
After Rowe pleaded guilty, the girl's family released a statement saying he had "completely abused" their trust.
'Utterly unacceptable'

Rowe, 31, had worked as a detective constable and had been based in Stafford in the force's child abuse investigation unit.
Staffordshire Police said he was arrested "within hours" of the situation coming to light.

Acting deputy Ch Con Marcus Beale said Rowe's behaviour was "utterly unacceptable".
He said: "This was an astonishing breach of trust by an individual officer.
"He badly let down his already vulnerable victim and her family, as well as the wider Staffordshire community and his force.
"As I said when he pleaded guilty, it is hard to imagine a more shocking abuse of position by an officer in whom a young girl had placed her trust."

Why would anybody who got elected , being the first EVER in history to get for the Conservative Party in her area and who could have sat pretty like the rest of them, resign and become Independent and stand against them as Independent with her partner at the county elections.
