Here's a question- Neptune is associated with escapism and deception, but it is also associated with divine love. The universe is so full of wonder and so overwhelming in contrast to our limited belief system here on earth. So if we embrace the rest of the universe and choose to experience life beyond these limitations are we really being escapists? Or is modern psychology to blame for scaring people into believing that having these experiences are "wrong* and not "normal". If we choose to accept what we have been taught is the truth wouldn't that be Neptune in it's darkest form? What are your thoughts on this??

Neptune is an interesting planet. I don't think it means that we escape into anything bad. But we can do that, and we would experience the destructive qualities of the planet. Just like Pluto can be bad as well. Or we can choose to use it for good. I think it all depends on the person.

If you use Saturn well, then it won't hurt to have a bit of Neptune, hehe. Like, you can use Saturn at daytime, for work and all that other boring stuff, and then spend the evenings/nights dreaming your way into the soul.

But no matter what we use Neptune for, we will always meet some kind of deception that pulls us back into reality. The divine love thing, it's in the heart and not physical reality.

the seas of spirit could drown one as easily as could elevate to new heights

the intangible facets of divine spirit coupled with worldly matters Incorrectly could well disassociate one from material matters, escapism could result easily

but if the unworldly was given equal weight (or appropriate measure) to the worldly, i'm sure the feat of integration would yield insight far beyond either extreme, as it is the combination of opposites that causes all myriad deviations from the whole, of the whole

Oh cool. Me too. I have Neptune in my 1st house. It is very powerful because I feel I am constantly living inside two different realities. The daydreams are intense. The problem I guess is that it's difficult for me to be REALISTIC about people.

I think in a sense it is escaping. It's an escape from the limiting 5-sense reality that we live in. But "escape" does not have to be a bad thing. To escape from the 5-sense reality is to move in a positive direction I think.

So when you look at Neptune on a five-sense basis, it can seem like escapism, deception, loss, the ethereal. Neptune rules poisons, and often Neptune figures prominently in transit at the time of death. (Leaving for the all-that-is). Saturn brings the spirit (Neptune) into matter. We are infinite beings (Neptune) living in a material world (Saturn, or so the consensus is for the moment). Modern Psychology is a science and a form of inculcation into a belief system which categorizes people who don't fit into the current extremely limited system as "mentally ill". Yes, you will find, as I have, that mentally ill people are frequently just more aware of the Neptunian aspects of existence. People born with sun or other prominent signs in Pisces often have difficulty coping with living a material existence and following all the "rules". Neptune experiences are connecting with our true selves; I just find the challenge is to translate and "own" them in the construct in which we live. Hope this helps. Love, angel ;)

P.S. Wanted to add that I believe that "divine love" is the same for me as the "all that is", and Neptune is definitely the way there....
