57.5% voted no
Still the last word is not yet īspoken, as the law says the vote outcome is not in hand with swiss law.

This is great news for all people who believe in the democratic process. The elites are predictably horrifed and this will no doubt be used as an excuse to make Europe even more undemocratic than it is already.
Here's the voice of the elite, the guardian today:
Was yesterday's result a product of Swiss exceptionalism, or simply the chance existence in Switzerland of a political system that allows popular referendums? Can we be sure that the people of Austria, France, Britain or the Netherlands would have voted differently, if given the chance? http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/nov/30/switzerland-minaret-referendum-islam
We give these people the vote and this is how they repay us? Don't they know voting exists to rubber stamp the wise decisions of their masters?

rotten bastards. whats wrong with minarets? let them build them if they want, they look much nicer than ugly council flats and office blocks. nobody builds nice churches either anymore. its a shame really.

minarets are a religious sign of domination over the europe we as primarily non muslims built
europe is waking up to the fact that these people dont want tolerance, they want sharia
