So then, if it is alright for Trevor McDonald (ITV News reporter for anybody that doesn't know) to call Bernard Manning a 'fat white bastard' a be justified whilst doing it, is it ok for people to call Trevor McDonald a fat black bastard?

Broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald has been cleared of making a racist remark about comedian Bernard Manning, despite more than 100 complaints to Ofcom.
The watchdog said the ex-newsreader had used strong language which was "clearly intended to parody Manning's own comedy" on his ITV1 series News Knight.
Any offence caused "was justified in the context", Ofcom ruled.

Now I have no love for Bernard Manning, in fact, I couldn't stand the tosser. But this stinks of hypocrisy.

Slightly off topic, but it's just reminded of a slip of the tongue ole Trev had a few years ago. He was reporting on a murder in the Kent Countryside & ended up saying what sounded like "the Cunt Kentryside", OMG did we piss ourselves laughing at that being broadcast on the 10 o'clock news, lol!:D Funny, but you never see that one in the outtakes!!:rolleyes::)

I used to work with a guy who just about the funniest / happy person I have ever met.. One day we were talking in the pub and he told me about someone calling him a nigger. I looked him up and down for a sec in puzzlement and it was only then that I realised he was black. I even blurted it out... "what? ..... oh yeah, your black!" Then we just burst out laughing.

i don't think he meant any malice to white people at all. doubt he has a racist bone in his body. for me it was purely a case of a person giving someone else there own medicine. i bet mr mcdonald had to abandon his own principles to say what he said. it was funny:D

You often get a lot of black people calling themselves "niggers" these days, especially in America. It's a good idea actualy because when the targets of the term uses it then it strips the word of its negative power.
There are a lot of double standards in racism as members have pointed out. In my home town the council banned Christmas decorations from the city in case it offended the Muslims. Actually no Muslims I spoke to are offended by Christmas decorations at all. But many of them were offended by the council's political correctness. Most black and Asian people seem to find that attitude very patronizing.
