The backs of my Knee caps are worn

basically the cartilladge on the back of the kneecap has worn away leaving the bone

i have had physio therapy to make the back of the cap bleed and this has formed a new protrective layer, but it does seem to wear away often and cause me pain

anything i can do ?

the surgery options are

1. drill the back of the kneecap and promote bleeding which will form a new barrier

2. if that does not work - fit an artificial pad behind the kneecap

3. remove the kneecap !

i'm a bit worried as i'm not old so to speak late 30's

does glucosamin work ?

is anyone on here taking it

yikes sorry to hear that,,they shy away from doing surgeries like that on people so young....I used to take stuff called triflex (its from gnc),it worked wonders for me after I had artho surgery done on my knee...best wishes:)
