Greetings fellow Seekers,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I wanted to relay a story that happened to me and my family this week.

On monday my wife went to pick up our five year old daughter from school, she was looking over our daughters writing for the day and noticed a picture of a house and the following sentence "The aliens are coming from space and we will be happy". She thought nothing more of it, other than it was quite amusing, until the later that day she noticed in the local newspaper a story about mysterious lights being seen the night before, less than 10 kilometres from our home! Make of it what you will, a coincidence or something else!

Is your daughter of a mind to write such sentences? At five it shows a) a great grasp of English and in the written form; b) an imagination that should be nurtured c) Parents who have clearly spent a great deal of time bringing out a and b... Such a shame that more parents are unable/unwilling to do the same. :)

It was written phonetically but that was the sentence.

She is gifted with intelligence and empathy, but all parents think that about their kids don't they?! :D

Could she have overheard it? The strange thing is, why would a little girl of five internalise that and feel it was important enought to her to write it down? I know kids are like sponges and they copy anything new, but it seems intriguing.

Please scan and post this. I've never heard of a 5-year-old being able to construct sentences like this. Channeler?

I certainly will.

To be honest I wouldn't have thought much of it and passed it off as being something she overheard had I not seen the newspaper reports of the strange lights over the weekend.

I didn't get the original picture and sentence (at school), just tracking them down. But here is a picture she drew the following day:

children are so gifted compared to many people older than them and with a certain upbringing will enhance there there telepathic abilities we lose with life and the rat race and thus atrophies the 'muscle' of these abilities

sounds like she is in tune and harmony with more than many could explain and if so she can pick this up somehow :)
