One of the few songs that ever made me cry...
The Gunners Dream by Pink Floyd. Especially right when he says "And hold on to the dream" and the sax kicks in.

I was born in 61 soglad, but never really took to elvis,or the 70's rock bands, like led zeppelin, black sabbath etc........................think i was waiting for the Electronic era, human league, gary numan,vangelis..and an obsession with ABBA........but fave would have to be OMD.

Yes! Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful melodies EVER.
What do you think of THIS version? Jake Shimabukuro on Ukelele.
Shine on is a great song. Sheep by Pink Floyd is great as well. Personally, Videotape by radiohead (specifically the thom yorke basement video) is very moving for me.

Hello Truth-seekers,
There must be hundreds of musical creations that reach deep inside me. Here's one:
The Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows & Within You, Without You
(This is a video remix of the 2 songs)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=y1u489DqbMQ
Turn off your mind, relax
and float down stream
It is not dying
It is not dying
We were talking-about the space between us all
And the people-who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth-then it's far too late-when they pass away.
We were talking-about the love we all could share-when we find it
To try our best to hold it there-with our love
With our love-we could save the world-if they only knew.
Try to realise it's all within yourself
No-one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small,
And life flows on within you and without you.
We were talking-about the love that's gone so cold and the people,
Who gain the world and lose their soul-
They don't know-they can't see-are you one of them?
When you've seen beyond yourself-then you may find, peace of mind,
Is waiting there-
And the time will come when you see
we're all one, and life flows on within you and without you.
Lay down all thought
Surrender to the void
It is shining
It is shining
That you may see
The meaning of within
It is being
It is being
That love is all
And love is everyone
It is knowing
It is knowing
That ignorance and hate
May mourn the dead
It is believing
It is believing
But listen to the
color of your dreams
It is not living
It is not living
Or play the game
existence to the end
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
